New York Dog Nanny

I have an 8-year-old Maltese who looks adorable but is unfriendly towards people. We've engaged many trainers before to no avail and I was resigned to the fact that she's an armpit piranha...However at the first session with Ryan, New York Dog Nanny's trainer, I learnt quickly how to control her aggressive behavior, and at the second session he showed me how to walk her in peace, without her pulling me and yapping at everything! I am truly amazed. And we've been enjoying our walks ever since, which means his techniques are lasting and effective. An old dog can learn new tricks!

I have been HAPPILY using New York Dog Nanny for walking services for nearly two years in Astoria as well as having their dog nannies spend the night at my home when I travel and need someone to stay with my dog. My dog is the most important thing in my life and I'm really really happy I found a company that I can trust with pre-vetted dog walkers and pet sitters. Courtney really loves staying in the comfort of her own home and each of the nannies has been super professional and dependable. Before I switched to New York Dog Nanny I hired a non-professional dog walker to walk my dog and needless to say I am happy I switched. I know my dog will always be well taken care of and that I can go to work and go to a late meeting or out with friends and that a second last minute walk is not a problem. Will always be back! NYDN is the best!! The owner, Cynthia, was so attentive and professional, and made sure my dogs were taken care of. From the moment I stepped in I could tell this was the coziest boarding place in the city, with couches and plenty of space that make the place feel just like home.



I knew my Riley and Nibbler would be happy to play with other dogs, chill on the couch, and people watch through that lovely big window. What more can a dog want? We will definitely be back!!

We've had two training sessions with Ryan their in house trainer and we've already seen so many positive results in our dog Max. Our first session with Ryan we saw many of the mistakes that we made which Ryan helped correct. We didn't realize what we were doing was undermining getting Max do basic commands which he barely knew. After the first session we found that our dog was more affectionate with us (we thought he was just not an affectionate dog) and he began listen to us more and has more curiosity to meet other dogs at the dog run (as opposed to hiding behind us or just standing there). After our second session, which is when we focused on leash training we were surprised to see that Max would actually heal and not pull us frantically down the street and that it was so easy to implement and learn. Ryan is truly a great trainer who understands what dogs respond to. He has taught us the parenting philosophy behind what he does and why it works. In the past we've watched a lot of videos on youtube but there really is no substitute for having a trainer like Ryan explain the why and the how in person. We are really happy with just these two training sessions so far and can't wait for Max' next session.

New York Dog Nanny is by far the most trustworthy and professional dog service I have ever used. Whenever I need someone to look after my Chihuahua, Chico I can always rely on these amazing people! I met the owner at a dog meet up group and she's truly dedicated to her business and the little ones she looks after. Sharon is one of the nanny's that looks after Chico and he absolutely loves her! I would recommend New York Dog Nanny to everyone that wants reliable and loving people looking after their furry ones:)
