Arthur Murray Dance Studio

I choose to go to the Arthur Murray Plano studio instead of all the other studios.

I started here because of convenience and reputation, I continued because of the instructors, atmosphere and fellow students. After work I am exhausted, but going to this studio is better than shots of espresso. Suddenly I have energy and bounce!

Longtime students (which includes me, now) love dancing with the new students. If you bring your own partner, I strongly advise also dancing with others; it really helps to practice with different people. The instructors teach all the standards, but also know a vast range of specialty dances. One last thing, I should warn you that ballroom dancing is addictive. I originally thought I'd go for 10 weeks, learn a little waltz and quit. Ha! Come! Join us! Resistance is futile.

I have been going to Arthur Murray in Plano for 9 months and it has been the very best experience for me. My instructors Antonio and Uly deserve acknowledgement because they are awesome! They are super supportive, encouraging and patient with me and have pushed me to be better than I ever thought I could be and I am only just getting starting. The studio is full of great people, the staff and students and they always put a smile on my face. In fact I call the studio my "happy place" as it is a great escape from all the other things in life. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to dance.

The dance anthropologist Joann Kealiinohomoku, having noted the marked differences in dictionary definitions of dance during the twentieth century, offered the following definition: Dance is a transient mode of expression, performed in a given form and style by the human body moving in space. Dance occurs through purposefully selected and controlled rhythmic movements; both the performer and the observing members of a given group recognize the resulting phenomenon as dance.

To me dancing with Arthur Murray (AM) in Plano has become a centerpiece to balance in life. This feeling I deeply share with my lovely wife. We visited AM years ago seeking a change in our life style. We were pursuing a significant emotional event that would transform our outlook in the mundane, stressful and difficulties life we are living. You can certainly attend many studios; we did. The question I was seeking to answer was; what value added can we gain from the investment in this studio that cannot be obtained from other studios. In this case, I can easily use two words commitment and quality. The commitment from the studio (Management and Staff) from the beginning that I was to engage in a journey customized to fulfill some internal disquietude about dancing was amazing. To my surprise, it was not limited to dance but also to better me as a person in the form of etiquette and manners. To that extend it has been fulfilled. The other word I care about is quality not quantity. I have learned that in many instances the perception of a better investment is directly associated to cost. There are millions of opinions about that. I will not try to steer any one from the way they judge things. It is your knowledge of the subject what determines your ability to judge quality. When it comes to quality, I have traveled around the world and have had the opportunity to use some of the education I have received from the Studio. To my surprise not only the techniques checkout right but in some instances I got the privileged of been requested to provide feedback on some movements in the dance floor because my execution of a dance has risen to a level where it is noted that some serious training have been completed. To that, I am proud of my accomplishments. I am also very appreciative to my Instructors/ Couches and Mentors at the studio. Go Plano Bam Bam

I am one of the instructors at Arthur Murrays... There are millions of reasons I love Arthur Murray Plano. Here are a few: I love that our Mission is to enhance the lives of others through dancing... It would be hard to do that if we all weren't as passionate about dancing and adding value to peoples lives as we are. I love that we have a system that WORKS! Not an out-dated system or a knock-off of another companies system... But a tried and true system created by the company's Master Minds...to make learning to dance easy and fun. We do feel the pain of those students with whom we no longer see in the studio, we are an ever-growing, ever-changing business (which is also something I love!!) But also because in my years in the business, I have seen lives changed, marriages saved/enhanced, peoples voids filled! We want to be able to give those benefits to as many people as possible. We are all on the same page goal wise and, though we may have our moments of growth/learning experiences, We all have our hearts in the right place and that is we care about our students first! Like I said there are many more reasons I love Arthur Murray! The Plano Studio is so energetic, uplifting, fun, caring, and genuine. They ARE a big family!
