Ants

The most distinguishing sign of a hornet is a large, oblong-to-ball shape nest hanging in a tree or bush. Bald-faced hornets require no provocation to attackâ€”they will if they feel like it, making them much more of a risk.

Yellow jackets are the most common wasp insect. They are black in color with prominent yellow stripes. They like human food such as meat and sweets, but generally feed on other insects. They typically build their nests underground. Generally, yellow jackets are not aggressive unless provoked.

While these black ants certainly are attracted to sugars, other insects and sometimes proteins like most other ants, they are most fond of the honeydew produced by aphids and mealy bugs. Odorous ants are active around the clock, busy foraging night and day. They are unique in that they are a â€œwell-socializedâ€ ant, meaning that they get along fairly well with other ant species and colonies; this further protects their high populations from predators. Additionally, they are capable of producing multiple colonies with multiple queens.

We have great success trapping moles. The presence of moles can be indicated by the mounds of soil throughout your yard as they construct their tunnels. Moles are grey and have pointed noses that distinguish them from meadow voles, gophers, and shrews. Their noses extend well in front of their mouths. Their small eyes and ears that are concealed by fur and they have large paws for digging.
