Touty's African Hair Braiding

THE WORST! Literally strangers keep coming up to me offering to fix what Touty did to my sew in. The closure I purchased was never installed and when iv went back to ask what happened they were all shoulders like uhhhhh I dunno. SERIOUSLY! GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

They had me hold the hair and section it for them...I didn't pay $200 to do their job. And my braids were sub-par at best. I cannot recommend this shop.

DON'T DO IT!!! I've never had such a horrible braiding job like this. Even back in the day when I had some girl who only braided on the side in her living room to do my hair--she did a much better job than these "professional hair braiders." I went to get Senegalese twists, and came out with what looked to be box braids with twists thrown in and ends that are inexplicable. The hair is obviously very cheap, and the quality of braiding is below subpar. I wasted $200 because I have to take it out because I am too embarrassed to walk around looking like this.

These African Queens are PHENOMENAL!!!!! Recently relocated from the DC/Baltimore area (Chocolate City). I took 2 of my daughters for kinky twists - DONE within 6 hours! Florence and Clemintine are 1st- class experts! I have found THE BEST in Knoxville!

Florence does a GREAT job on micros! I've been to her two times at Touty's and she's done them in four hours and i love the hair. Touty's hair salon only uses one type of hair unlike other places that use like 10 different types of braiding hair. The hair quality is much better too. They don't braid the micros too small though, but it's better for your hair. My edges never come out when I go here.

I have been to Touty's for micros and they did a great job. But this time i had a bad experience. I went to get a full sew-in and my scalp was really sore the day after. I know it's normal for your scalp to be sore but this was a different type of sore. I went into the shop to have them take it out the next day and the lady told me it's normal for my scalp to be sore and just give it 2 days. When i told her it was too sore and I wanted it taken out, she looked at my crazy. So i sat there and waited and she asked me if i still wanted it taken out. I said yes please. So she called someone (because she was the only 1 in the shop) and i guess she didn't want to be bothered because she asked me if i could come back the next day. I never went back. Now i've been wearing sew-ins for a year now and my scalp has NEVER been that sore! I decided to take the sew-in out after wearing it for only 5 days and i discovered that my scalp was bleeding and i had bumps and scabs all over my scalp. I'm glad i took it out or my hair would have been severly damaged if i left it in any longer.

dont waste your time going here these braiders are not experienced braiders they dont braid tight enough so the braids will not even last a week i wasted my time and a 150 dollars. and all i got was i am sorry i will rebraid it for 100 more dollars.....STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE..

My braids looked old after one week and I put a scarf on every night. They braided the braids way bigger than they said they would. They were rude! I paid 180 dollars and the outcome was not worth the price. I would not recommend Touty's if my life depended on it. Don't go to them ever, even if they're going to braid your hair for free! Also, I didn't want to give Touty's any stars at all but Yellow Pages made me.

I had a pretty nice time there, and the micros stayed in for all 3 mnths ncely. It's really all about which one doesyour hair. I was lucky to get the quick and efficient one.

Me and my sister usually get our hair braided around the summer, but this time we were going to Mexico and wanted to get braids just in case we wanted to go in the pool or the beach. We found touty's on this website and was excited to hear there was one in Knoxville. Where i usually get it done is 7 hours away (but they are totally worth the drive). We got our hair done and they didnt braid really tight and my hair was broken off in some parts of my head which they said they could braid it. we went to Mexico and did not even get in the water yet 2 weeks later it look like it was ready to get them done, The braids already started to fall out and look nappy. I do not recommend this place at all. I guess for $150 you can not expect that much. it was only good for a week or two when they are suppose to last 2-3 months!
