Sunset Inn & Suites

Me and my fiancé use to love going to Sunset Inn & Suites. After our last visit we will never go back. We stayed one night in a regular room and we payed cash for it. When my fiancé called to get the room she had to give them my debit card number to hold the room. We paid $92 and some change for one night. We checked out the next morning and when we got home I checked my bank account. The hotel charged my account $196. When I called the hotel I talked to the owner and he was very unprofessional. I have no idea where they came up with $196. After talking to the owner we will never go back or recommend this hotel.

When I heard that this hotel had fantasy suites I absolutely had to check it out. Five years ago my husband and I stayed in the Space Odyssey room and we had a wonderful time. This room was very cool and clean as well so I had always thought we would try to go back one day. Last night for my birthday, my husband booked the Roman Retreat room. I was excited to go back to this hotel. I am not sure if this is just one of the oldest rooms in the hotel or what, but for $200 a night, it was not really worth it. Though there is a DVD player in the room, we did not bring any movies because the last time we were there we purchased some pay per view movies. Well we couldn't get the pay per view to come on and ended up calling the front desk. The man said that it had been out for a few days and nobody had come to fix it yet. So, okay we decided to go into town and rent some movies. One of the main luxuries of a $200 a night romantic suite is obviously a jacuzzi - is it still considered a jacuzzi if the jets don't work? No, I think that's just a big bathtub. After we got the jacuzzi full of water and tried to turn the jets on and relax to watch one of our movies - the jets wouldn't turn on. It was still a nice bath, but of course not the jacuzzi experience you hope for when you step into one. The last thing that happened was when my husband went to eat at the continental breakfast; he was putting a few things on his plate and looked over to see 8 female employees sitting on the floor of another room with the door open just chatting. I think this is very unprofessional and if they did not want a customer to see them they could have kept the door shut. Unless you like to go shopping for antiques there is not much to do in Clinton. We do like the antique shops but we went back to Sunset Inn & Suites for the fantasy suites. I have recommended this place to many people after our visit five years ago, but I would not recommend this place now after this visit.
