I'm a loyal Gibraltar customer. I've been there so so many times that I've lost count. My step father even did card shows there when I was a kid. Pollywood has been so rude and neglectful as long as I can remember. I have complained to them when I went in to buy a puppy and was rude to. Not only that I was rude to when asked about the previous vet care.on the puppy I was going to spend hundreds on. The poor animals are not in proper cages. The parrets are missing feathers bc parrents are known to rip out their own feathers if they are sad, depresssed amd or not properly taken care of. This place is a total puppy mill thru and thru. Once one dog sells another is immediately brought it. None are ever seen being taken outside for a walk. Many times I have left at closing time and have never seen the owner or employees take any of the animals home. Remind you that this place is only open on wknds to the public and only open for an hr or two nce in a while for cleaning. So which brings questions of how often are these poor animals checked on? Why have these poor animals never investigated on? If so then why isn't a ponishment not taken place? If there's only a fine given then obvisly the fine isn't being taken seriously and only paid for and the neglect continues. Some body needs to step up here! The OWNER needs to if she wants to stay in business! If you want to have a good business lady here's a few tips.

1) treat your customers and pets like you want to be treated! With respect, dignity, honor and with food and clean.

2) if you want to have high prices on animals atleast provide vet care to the animals as they live in small cages bc you refuse to buy proper cages, as well provide proper amount of meals and water!

3) if you have a small, medium, large dogs please provide them with proper cages in proper sizes and not the give the small dog a large rabbit cage I mean a small dog gets a small dog grate. Duh!

4) if your a cheap scate go to the dollar store or take donated cleaning supplies and clean up after the animals! Bc it is unhealthy for them and for the customers to skip a wk of cleaning. Bc your dept does smell and my shoes stick to the floor so yes it is dirty.

5) don't be rude to customers. That is a make it or brake it for alot of customers and they have money to pay your rediculis prices.

6) dogs can only take so much of being locked up please have ur employees take the dogs for a walk. If u have trust issues DO IT YOUR DAMN SELF!

Lady you have well over 70 complaints just on here. If your as smart as you claim you are then take a hint! If you rain a good business ypu would NOT have no where near this many complaints! So please for the love of god please please have mercy on these animals!!!!

I was at here at Gibraltar last weekend and came across this mess of a pet store. I could tell instantly that the dogs were in a condition where they were pacing and running back and fourth that they looked deranged, waste all over the cages, cages were too small, and no food or water bowls. That's right, no food or water for them. I went into the store to look for rabbits for observation because I am a huge advocate for proper rabbit care, and to no surprise, the rabbits were kept in bird like cages with wired floors, rotted pellet food and dishes of brown hairy water (nope, not water bottles), and they looked miserable and had way overgrown nails, which is a huge problem to both their wellbeing and the store's liability. The other animals were no different. I watched the owner and employees as they were extremely rude to everyone and as I was walking out, it took me willpower to not throw my finger up behind my back. Don't buy anything from this place, even if you feel like you'd be rescuing an animal because you're still helping in profiting this mess of a business. Rather, boycott it to help it someday get shut down. It does not deserve even one star.

I am currently going to start a on-going investigation against "Pollywood Pets". If anyone has ever owned/purchased a puppy from this place I would encourage them to email me at manoliosa@yahoo.com with any kind of pictures, information, or stories of the animals they have owned. Any bad experience that you have undergone at the "pet shop" would be helpful as well. Anything via email that anyone can send would be very helpful in my quest and duty to shut them down. THANK YOU

AWFUL, we got a dog from there that lived there 2 years, was covered in pee/poo, rotted teeth, sore paws, the owners didn't know how old it was, no shots, no neuter, afraid of people, cage crazy, walks around in circles all day, pee's on everything, didn't no what grass was, the vet said the dog was mistreated..YES the VET said this! Not sure why they are still open? YOU KEEP SUPPORTING SHELLYS BUSINESS! BUYING A DOG FROM HER AND "SAVING" IT IS SUPPORTING HER TO BUY MORE DOGS! **STOP BUYING FROM POLLYWOOD-THEN IT WILL SHUT DOWN!!! We spent $400 on a crazy nutso dog and after we brought it home had to spend another 3 grand because of POLLYWOODS NEGLECT! AWFUL PLACE-PLEASE STOP SUPPORTING THEM!!!!! WE LEARNED OUR LESSON AND TELL EVERYONE ABOUT THIS PLACE!!

Horrible. The animals are mistreated. There is a dog that has been there for at least a year. I want to buy him, just so I can rescue him: However, have seen hundreds of reviews that animals are sickly with parvo. I wouldn't mind rescuing him, and paying for medical bills, etc. I already have 2 dogs, and would be devastated if the dog had parvo and gave this deadly disease to one of my other dogs!! This place needs to be shut down. I have contacted the news, reporters, veterinarians, PETA, anyone else that i can think of to expose this Shelly Meyers (owner) for the horrible person that she is. Please can ANYONE do something. I have seen petitions to have her shut down, and she is still there. Gibraltar refused to do anything because she pays 1,000 a week for rent there. I dont know what else to do. These animals are stuck in the cage, without any chance of a good healthy life, with this broad mistreating them. I am boycotting Gibraltar now, because they refuse to do anything about this. Gave this place a one star, not because it even deserved a star but because the site made me give them something. It deserves NOTHING!!!

"marblehead" if you get this please let me know what day you purchased your dog, we just had the same thing happen to our dog and we purchased ours on Monday June 6th and it died on Friday June 10th...It is a very sad situation all around.

When I first walked in the 2 girls that were working were complaining to each other about re tagging the pets when I asked to see one of the puppys they went and got her for me out of a babys playpen with some blankets on the bottom of it. My friend and I both sanatized our hands as they require and held the puppy. I ended up buying her she was just too cute not to take home, wasn't very fond of the price 600 dollars, but I bought her anyways. She had supposedly just got her second set of shots that day. So why after 4 days and another 404 dollars did she die from parvo?? But there is nothing she can do about it, really??? Didn't offer to give me another dog money back nothing. Not that I would have taken another dog...its just good business!!!!

These people should not have any contact with animals, let alone own a "pet store". Anyone who defends their actions must them personally and only care about money. This place needs to be shut down! How many times do we need to call, petition, and write to have it done? They are sad excuses for humans.

I got my dog from there five years ago. I initially didn't have enough for her so I put down a deposit. I did not want to leave her there but came back the next week for her. She was crammed in a cage with poop that wouldn't go through the cage. There was no room for her in the cage whatsoever to even turn around. This so called pet lover keeps these dogs in cages for months or years without ever letting them out for exercise. Trust me, I've seen year old dogs there. They all look depressed. Can't they finally once and for all shut this dump down? I think I've been to Gibraltar once since, and I can't even bear to walk past it.

I agree 100% with the above review. This is a horrible place and a great injustice to animals.If you have been to Pollywood Pets and personally saw what goes on and are in agreement, please contact the Michigan Department of Agriculture and file a complaint.

DON NOT GO TO ANY POLLYWOOD PETS PLACE. THEY ARE THE WORST PLACE TO BUY ANIMALS, WEATHER IT BE BIRD,CAT,REPTILE OR DOG......THE DOGS ARE EXTREMELY SICK, THE CAGES ARE FULL OF FECES AND URINE IT IS JUST CAKED ON, NOT TO MENTION THE BIRD DOODY ON GLASS, OUT SIDE OF CAGES AND FECES AND URINE ALL OVER FLOOR, DOGS CAN NOT STAND, THE LEGS LOOK TERRIBLE AND SOME ANIMALS HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN RESCUED FROM THERE BUT NEED EVERYONES HELP.

IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN TO POLLYWOOD PETS IN GIBRALTOR TRADE CENTER AND HAVE SEEN THESE ANIMALS PLEASE HELP THEM, THEY DON'T BELONG THERE. THERE WAS A WRITE UP IN THE DETROIT FREE PRESS IN 12-07 AND 1-08. LOOK IT UP, DON'T BE AFRAID TO SPEAK UP.

THESE ANIMALS CAN NOT SPEAK UP FOR THEMSELVES AND NEED ALLL THE ANIMAL LOVERS HELP OUT THERE.

ALSO GO TO DETROIT CITY SEARCH. AND READ THE REVIEWS, ITS DISTURBING, ESPECIALLY THE ONES THREATENING THE PEOPLE WHO STARTED THIS.AND CALLING THEM JEALOUS & OTHER SORTS.

IF I HAD MILLIONS I WOULD RESCUE ALL THOSE ANIMALS IN A HEART BEAT.
