Legal Aid of Western Missouri

Welp, despite what other reviews may say, legal aid did their job & got me off. I've never been arrested but about a year ago I was charged by the stupid kcpd for harassment and intimidation that never occurred. I was mailed a summons and came to court to defend this pathetic attempt of revenge by my accuser who claimed to be a victim. At 1st legal aid (the boss apparently) denied me claiming I made too much money but after explaining to the judge that I was a full time student and worked sporadically, he made legal aid represent me. Win #1 for me because ultimately the goal of this psycho was to get me to spend money on an attorney (which didn't happen). Moving right along... The trial to defend me was pretty amusing addressing ridiculous charges but ultimately I was found innocent and the charges against me dismissed. My legal aid lawyer was a bit standoffish at first but she warmed up to me and defended me better than I expected. She also dug up dirt on my accuser and made her look like a dang fool in court which was great to watch and she embarrassed the pathetic, poorly dressed and obviously inexperienced prosecutor who cried after losing my case. All in all the experience wasn't a bad one especially since I won but I do feel bad for people who have to break bread for attorneys on cases such as mine that are so petty, that they should've never been tried in the 1st place.

This place is a joke. I have called 3 times and all 3 times I have been told, "you need to call back because we don't handle that on this day". A 4th time I called they asked if I could call back in an hour because everyone was at lunch. It was my court day and no one ever got back to me.

Really horrible organization. Now representing slumlords against me who have just taken advantage of others and used the system. The female attoeny representing hem uses shouting, cruely, and threats to try to get her wah---which is deplorable. They need to terminate her.
