Overall
Peaceful and romantic

It was beautiful, quiet, and peaceful...all in all a great escape from the real world. The cottage was very comfortable and had all the necessities (a small but well equipped kitchenette, gas grill, cd's and dvd's, reading material, outdoor shower, jacuzzi tub for 2, access to a hot tub near the owners home, and a beautiful deck for watching the stars). There is also a small "stargazer's room" perched on a hillside a short hike (including a crossing on a suspension bridge) from the cottage. We watched the sunset there one night, but didn't make it over there at night to use the telescope. We visited during the dry season so didn't get to see/hear the waterfall and creek.
While the cottage shares a property with the owner's home, it is very private. The hosts are there if you need them for anything, but are very respectful of your space if you want to be alone.
There are many wineries within a 20 minute drive of the cottage. We did a day trip along the Pacific Coast Highway and visited the Armstrong Redwood Park (very scenic). We loved the area and hope to visit again.

Great Night's Sleep!

I usually have a problem with the beds in moteld being too hard. These beds were really comfortable. The room was clean and large and the rate was exceptional. I was very happy with my stay.

“Great Value - an excellent find

While our experience was identical to a prior review with regard to use of the coupons (arriving on a Thursday and them not having the coupon room) - the "upgrade" to a King bed non-smoking was only a few dollars more and the room was well worth it. The price ended up being about half the price of a name-branded motel just down the street. Room was large and clean, included a desk, coffee, micro and small frig and free hi-speed with great connection. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean and inviting. Location is excellent as it is directly across the street from lots of shopping including Costco and Trader Joe's. Not a "destination" location though it would be a good base for the wine country -- and, as we used it, a great enroute stop.
