Rent Source

If i could give 0 stars i would! I have used rentsource on 2 different occasions. The first time all the rentals i was interested in were already rented out. Ended up giving up. I gave rentsource a second chance here recently because they were advertising new management and that they would give refunds within 30 days if im not satisfied. Well i paid and am furious! They only refund if you use the service for a full 30 days logging in at least once a day for 30 days (stuff doesn't even change daily) and you dont find a rental! We ended up finding a rental elsewhere because we had the same issue (places we were interested in was already rented out and they failed to update the website like they claim) and i no longer want or need the service and they refuse to refund. NEVER doing this again! Lesson learned!

WE used this company 2x over several years.
The last time a couple years ago we used them. The guy was so confident that they had what we wanted and it was not on Craigslist and we said ok. They promised me the last time that they were working with landlords that had no deposit and free first month rent. YEA RIGHT There was no one offering no deposits or free rent once we got access to the website. Sure enough they send you to a website where you can search for rentals and choose a number of options but funny that none of the ones they had listed on craigslist matched anything they actually had.
That and there was nothing we found that really matched what we wanted. Everything was older some were not in good shape. We emailed asking where they ones listed on craigslist were and they gave some lame excuse like those were already rented or something. They never have what they claim to have.
And in todays age why would a landlord go through them when they can post on craigslist or hot pad and others for free? Then if you complain they wont call you back or email you back nor will they refund you.
I understand there will be bad reviews i run my own company and we have had 1 or 2 over the years. But its how you handle them And to get an F rating with the BBB thats pretty bad.
The guys i have spoke with are Marty and ZACH.
So again why would anyone use this company? My advice is do not use Rent source we have used it 2x and NEVER found anything that was anything like what they had advertised. Fox News in St louis did an undercover investigation on them and found they were listing apartments as single family homes and townhomes as single family homes.

Its classic bait and switch nothing more. They claim they have so many clients that they are bound to get bad reviews. If their service is everything they claim then no they should not.
Just do your own research.
Also both times we never did find anything everytime we found a listing outside of what Rent Source was offering and they WILL NOT REFUND! Honestly i dont see how they dont get in trouble for false advertising. Nothing they offer cant be found on Craigslist or other rental place.
They made a claim to me today that they have just what im looking for and i can feel free to stop by. The problem is they always say this and then everytime we have signed up its always like this nice as can be then when we cant find anything they ignore us or just say keep looking something will show up. They are always rude after words.

This worked out great for me. I was a bit concerned after reading the negative reviews, but I ended up finding a rental home in a good area in 6 weeks. I don't think the people writing negative reviews understand the service. They actually help you locate rentals and use methods such as craigslist listings and landlords to locate the properties.
I would recommend this service.

Screw this place! I don't get my refund because I found a place my damn self! Don't waste your money people. It's a huge scam.

DON'T DO IT, RENTSOURCE IS A JOKE!!! After signing up and not finding a home through them, no refund honored as promised. At the end of the day, I'm pleased just knowing they won't survive with all the free services there are now from facebook to swap sites to craigslist, etc. Good riddance Rentsource : )

USED CAR SALESMEN!!!! These people tried to charge me $90 to send me pictures of a property advertised on craigslist and then justify asking for it by saying "well, we are providing you a service by sending you pictures are we not?" Completely ridiculous!!

This is the worst company ever!!! The one positive review is likely staged in order to help their report. I never even made it into the office due to the rude customer service rep. I questioned why the consumer has to pay and the landlord can list for free and the answer was to keep rent prices down-lie! Then I asked about the screening process since I am paying and to ensure that I am not getting to a slum landlord, questionable individual or foreclosed property. The response was that they don't verify the properties, so essentially I could call and list a property. The guy got upset with my questions and started cutting me off. I was skeptical of paying for a service in the first place considering typically the landlord pays. Now, I am certain that this company is a scam and I recommend that no one utilizes this company!!!

I was told by David that if I paid their $85 fee they would process my application on the property of my choice. He also stated there wouldn't be an additional app fee nor credit check required by any of the owners and I could make payments on my deposit. It sound too good to be true and it was. Everyone I called wanted an additional app fee and required a credit check. I called David the same day and asked for a refund but he avoided my calls for five days. He finally advised me to call customer service for a refund and of course they said they don't give refunds. So if you have some extra cash and you just want to give it away then email me. They are doing nothing more for people than you could do on Google or the internet yourself. I HAVE NEVER FELT MORE USED FOR MY HARD EARNED MONEY. THEY ARE NOT WHAT THEY CLAIM. ALL THEY DO IS GIVE YOU A LIST OF PROPERTIES TO CHOOSE FROM THAT ARE ON OTHER WEBSITES. DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME. I CAN'T EXPRESS IT ANY BETTER!!!!!!!!

I used their service and it definitely was NOT worth the money. Their employees are not to be trusted; I was provided much false and useless information. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
