Captain Mannis Executive Boat Rentals

My family had a marvelous time on the boat that we rented from Manni's boat rentals. The boat was great and the professionalism was superb. From the captain's orientation to the check in, the entire experience was great. If you want to rent a great boat at a good price, I highly recommend Manni's.

I reserved a boat for a 3 day rental a couple months before my arrival in Cape Coral. I had a couple conversations leading up to rental. On the day before I was to pick up the boat, I called to confirm that I would pick boat up at 8 am. Captain Manni, said he was going to be busy giving other clients an orientation and would not be able to start my 2 hour orientation til 10am. I said I had planned to be boating that morning but he said he couldn't do anything to accommodate me. He said he would call me at 10 am to confirm that he was back and ready for my orientation. He didn't call til after 1030, I went straight over to his location. When I arrived, the boat was being worked on by his mechanic. He took over an hour to fill out the contract, he hadn't even filled out any of the items prior to my arrival. Then he said I needed to be back by 530 Monday evening because the other renters were coming back at 6. When we finished going over details we went to dock. The boat was still being worked on. At this point it was 1230, I mentioned that I had lost half my day as we still wanted to go out on boat and go to my house with it. At this point I mentioned that I had lost more than half my day and he finally offered to return $100 of my $250 rental daily rental. We got to my house and then he needed me to drive him back to his place. The boat had a broken fuel gauge, which I found out after running it for a day and it still showed full. The GPS was not functioning and he he didn't have another to replace it. He said we wouldn't need the GPS anyway. During the first day an unknown alarm on the boat was loudly beeping for 20-30 min. I called Captain Manni as I couldn't figure out what it was, he didn't know what it was either, luckily it finally stopped. When I returned the boat to Captain Manni, he inspected the boat. Upon inspection he blamed me for some superficial scratches on bow. I felt as though he was trying to get money out of me. I told him that I thought he was being dishonest at which point he threatened to finish the conversation with a baseball bat. The conversation of course became heated at this point. We agreed to part ways calling it even, considering that I was not given full tank of fuel to begin rental as the gauge wasn't working. Overall this was the most unprofessional, unpleasant experience I have ever had renting boats. I have done numerous bareboat charters and other boating excursions and this was the worst ever. Steer clear of this business!
