TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE...
save yourself a lot of grief and go elsewhere...

Once they have your $$$ they could not care less about customer satisfaction. I certainly don't know how to run a fish store but basic customer service and satisfaction I would think they'd want to follow..... I guess they have so much business they don't have to concern themselves with alienating potential return customers...

Diseased fish and rude service

I wish there was an option to give zero stars. After my experience with them this past week, I'll never go back.

First off it started on Friday, July 25th. I went in the store to ask for some help with dosing. I had bought some Seachem ferts from them the previous week and the gal, Rachel, told me that Matt dosed his tanks with them and that it worked out well. So I bought the chemicals but the directions are more for 250 gallon tanks. Who has that? All I wanted to know was how many ML per gallon. So I wait 20 minutes to speak to the guy when he finally gets done with the other customers. I ask him about the stuff and he says "Have you ever heard of Google? You seriously want me to calculate this out for you, I've got other customers!" I was taken aback. And had I not desperately needed the garlic supplement I would have left it on the counter and left. But that is the last $22 they'll ever see from me. I told him that the girl that worked there said he dosed and recommended them, and his reply was "Well she just wanted to get a sale. You don't need to dose, I don't dose my tanks." Well of course you don't dose the store tanks, you don't keep them in stock so you won't need to.

So I posted a review on their Facebook page and 2 days later on Sunday Rachel called me. She profusely apologized and helped me out with the dosing, or led me to websites that honestly didn't help me with the exact ferts I got but it was a nice gesture and I told her I'd edit the review and I did and thanked her for it. Two days later I get an email that they had complained to Facebook and Facebook removed my review, even though my review was ABOUT THEIR COMPANY and didn't go against ANY policy, they just wanted the negative review removed. And not only did they remove my negative review, they removed EVERYBODY'S. So basically the apology Rachel had given me was followed by a slap in the face. Why even bother to apologize? If you're going to just delete my review, why bother to pretend to care? So I left another review with the email that I got sent from Facebook. Good job treating your customers like crap and then hiding the bad reviews. Heads up though, Facebook isn't the only website to review companies. Oh and apparently they've blocked me now from reviewing them.

But let's also talk about why I was there in the first place to pick up the garlic supplement. That is because they sold me 2 clown loaches that had Ich. Now my tank had only been set up a month but it had cycled and had ich free guppies in there. There was no ich. I got the ich from THEIR fish and their water. So I go back and ask for help on what to do. Now I had done the research, and honestly I wish I would have not listened to Matt's advice on this either. Instead of just buying a heater and slowly turning it up to 85 to rid all of the parasites, he said that the ich medicine was the best. I stupidly bought it. And not only did it ruin my homemade decorations and turn them blue, which he did not say nor did the bottle, one of the loaches only got worse. He is on his deathbed now and I've run out of options to help him. So I paid $14 for the fish, another $10 or so for the ich medicine, and $22 for the garlic supplement to try and coax my little guy to eating, plus the zucchini, coconut, and other foods to try, all because Nolan's Aquarium sells sick fish. I should have known better. They pretty much have dead fish in all of their tanks. It's something I noticed each time I've gone there. I should have trusted my gut. But they were the closest LFS to me so I went there. Now I know, and I'll travel that extra 10 miles or so to go to another one.

After the hundreds of dollars I've spent there, I can't believe they would treat me like this. I wish I could take every single thing I bought there back. It's ok though, they'll not get one more dollar from me, and I hope that they won't get any from you either.

Service

Tried numerous times to schedule a fish tank cleaning service for my 220 Gallon tank. Finally, when they were able to schedule Blake to come out and clean we scheduled for the next day because that worked for him. I took the day off without pay from work and he stood me up. I'm a business owner and if one of my employees cant make it, I find a way to get it done. This is poor customer service and there is no excuse for it.

Moral of the story is, don't depend on them following through with what they say or you may be like me right now sitting around for absolutely nothing.

You will spend hours waiting. They need a numbers system...customers need to take a number to be waited on. If they dont put something in place you will be there for at least an hour.

I see lots of unhappy reviews but my experience has been nothing but A+!! I bought a Used canister filter from them and tried my best to get it to work. Contacted marineland for parts and tried them and still no go. Was just about to pull the trigger on mail ordering a different brand when i decided to call Rachel back and see what she could do. Cut to the chase, She took the used filter back and exchanged it for a BRAND NEW ONE!!!

They have also always been very friendly to us and very helpful. No issues here with us!!

Will NEVER go back!

I bought a $30 fish that killed 2 of my fish and almost my sucker fish as well. Tried to return him and they tried to give me $10 for him. Was going to buy 2 new fish and the guy quoted me a price, when I got to the register the price was doubled! I asked about it and he told me that he did not quote that price. Decided to use my $10 credit on fish food and was told I can't use the store credit on anything but fish. Told them to take the credit and fish and shove it! Never in my life have I seen such horrible service! I will never return to that store!

Not Customer Friendly Place.

Their hours are not as promised, when I asked why so I got 'attitude' from the employee oh that's the old hours, we close earlier now... I asked for small crickets for my small frog and was shown medium/big size ones that would eat my frog before he could eat them and once again was treated w the attitude 'oh lady this is all we have' and I don't give a sh.. shoulder shrug.

Very disappointed in the way treated after spending over $300.00 for bearded dragon and supplies to set up. Purchased set up tank and was told "we did not need to purchase anything else" for set up. After getting to our grandson school where set up donated, found light system not correct and system with kit actually blew out. Returned to store to get correct light and sales clerk very rude and did not want to give credit for the correct light. When we contacted distributor told sometimes the wrong light is put in kit and they would replace if the store would return to them. Would not recommed this store and advised the school not to use this store for future supplies. We are going to purchase several more class pets and supplies for our grandson school but not from this store!! Would suggest owner send sales clerks to customer service classes as there are a lot of people looking for work and sure he could do better than this male clerk.

This store has everything! I'...

This store has everything! I'm setting up my first planted tank and went to Nolan's to get some moss. I don't know the guys name, but he was extremely helpful and friendly. He had just clipped some peacock moss from his tank at home and brought it in. It is premium moss!!! Long strands and very green. He gave me a great deal and I will definitely go back to this store next time I'm in town.

Nolans Aquarium has the largest selection of fish and equipment in the county. I go there quite often to pick up an exotic fish or coral. Shawn and Joe are great to work with. Great staff.

Went in with a water sample, & they recommended a $149 pump. Got it home and it died immediately. Evaluated pond size & pump I already had, determined that what they recommended was more than I needed. Took it back, wanted refund. They refused: their policy. Said it's on the receipt, which I saw AFTER I had made the purchase. Said it's also no the door: DOORS OPEN WHEN YOU COME IN, SO IT'S NEVER IN FRONT OF YOU. They don't mention it when you make a purchase. They refused a refund. BEWARE: If YOU make an error in judgement based on THEIR advice, they will not stand behind you. Bottom line for them, no refunds. They said the pump was USED because it went into the water. How else do you test it???? Bottom line: unless you're buying fish, go somewhere else!

Nolan's Aquarium Superstore is number one in all of Florida. The knowledge and experience of the staff is unsurpassed. All of their live stock is of the highest quality and come from very reputable distributors. Nolan's also offers services that go above and beyond the call of duty. If needed, they will deliver and help you set up your pond, salt water or fresh water aquarium, and offer advise and tips on keeping a healthy and vibrant fish tank and/or pond. Their reputation is of great admiration. I am 54 years old and I have kept tropical fish sine I was 5 years old, I have bred Angel fish and different live bearers; but I have not found a greater variety and diverse display of live stock than at Nolan's. From the novice to the more experience, you are sure to find something new and innovative at Nolan's. A five star plus aquarium supply store.
