Pet Village

The co-owner Cheryl literally got in mine and my sister's face about how I should learn how to be a parent and that I should go tell all my friends about my experience so they can all come back and treat the store like a ZOO too. I called later to speak to the owner about Cheryl's shocking behavior. When I called, Cheryl answered. I asked to speak with Doug, and when she realized it was me calling, she blatantly hung up on me! I called back and I unfortunately learned that Doug is Cheryl's brother. He backed her up 100% and said that we should teach our kids how to act in a store, and that the reason for my call should have been to apologize to THEM. Sure, my 18-month-old may have touched the fish water a few times, but I was right with him the whole time. And regardless of what my kid did, their reaction was absolutely SHOCKING and was SO uncalled for. I'm so pleased to see so many people with reviews on this site that have had the same terrible experiences that I have at this place. DON'T GO THERE.

I bought my first ball python here. She's such a sweet heart and is super gentle. The staff answered all my questions (I even tested them a little bit haha) and they were knowledgable and friendly. I also got several fish from here and all of them have been healthy, unlike the diseased ones from petsmart. Personally, I feel like the people that are all upset about the "bad staff" and "bad treatment of the animals" have their heads up their butts. NO, they do NOT get their dogs from puppy mills. You can really tell that these people care for the animals and want them to go to good forever homes. I haven't been able to find a better pet shop than this, and I don't think I ever will.

This is a great store for findign and learnign about pets. I have seen some posters say it is a puppy mill - it surely is not!! They take awsome care of their puppies and really work hard to make sure they go to good homes. The staff gets rather excited to see a puppy go to a nice home, they seem to have a sense of relief that the puppy will be taken care of. They make sure the dogs got to the vet routinely and Kelly(staff member) is the best knowlege base for the dogs. She takes great care and medicatates and manages the care of the dogs. The owner Doug, is one the nicest guys I have ever met. There are few people that have been bad mouthing this store, I suspect they saw something they didn't understand and have taken it upon themselfs to badmouth and redicule this business with no respect of reality. I would like to see where these people have bad mouthes PetCo ad PetSmart - who do use puppy mills!!



Over all - this is a great store with allot of product and choice in supplies for pets ranging all over the spectrum. The staff are nice and friendly and will work to help you find your answers to your pets needs.



Birld World & Petvillage is a good ol'fashion petstore with a ton of info and help.



Remember you get what you pay for - so they may not be the cheapest in town but they offer a lot of help and support with you pet. Try getting that from PetCo or PetSmart now days.

Please do not buy a dog from this or any pet shop. I made the mistake of buying a puppy from this place. The puppy was always sick and mean. Must have been abused at a puppy mill. The puppy ended up biting my 2 year old in the face. I also was charged about $700 more than it would have cost to go to a legit breeder. Please do your homework before buying a pet and don't make the same mistake I did.

Great place to visit and see all the wonderful animals they have .. even if you aren't in the mood to get an animal. They have lots of puppies, kittens, hand-fed birds, and fresh and saltwater fish. The staff is always helpful. The prices are a little high in my opinion, but the quality is better than most, so it may be worth the price.
