Petco

I had a bad expierience here, or i should say my dog did. I never expected when the groomer clipped my dogs nails that one of them would bleed, i thought she didnt know what she was doing or didnt care i will not be taking my dog back to davis petco again

I took my dog to the Davis, CA Petco for a grooming appointment yesterday at 11am. By 4pm, my wife called and found it took 5 hours for Tiberius (Ty) to get bathed, but was still waiting to get groomed. We finally got the call to pick Ty up and reached Petco at 5pm. My wife asked what could have made the grooming take 6 hours. The groomer in charge (immediately defensive and confrontational) stated it took so long because Saturdays are packed, and that Ty was peeing himself so they had to wait for him to calm down before they could continue grooming. She insisted they had to treat other dogs before him because he was such a trouble. That was a boldfaced lie because I recognized the dog that came in immediately after Ty, still being groomed, also stuck at the groomer's for 6 hours. My wife said we would not be returning to Petco anymore, and she walked out. I walked back in, and this happened:

Me: Excuse me, I'm sorry but an 11am appointment means something.

Groomer: We can't groom a dog that's peeing on himself and...*more boldfaced lies*.

Me: But six hours????

Groomer: *Continues to blame the dog, makes no effort to apologize or keep our business.*

Me: Ok we're done, thank you. * I begin to walk out*

Groomer: I GUESS WE WON'T SEE YOU AGAIN!

Ty was visibly stressed from that experience, we were disrespected, and the groomer was nothing but confrontational towards us. She did this in front of about 5 other customers in the grooming area, so she clearly didn't care about keeping their business either. It's for this reason my wife and I won't be returning to Petco for any of our pet care needs. We won't get on our high horse and ask anyone to do the same, but we felt this should be shared.

I loved this store--where else can you find a tooth brush for your cat, food for your baby boa and Paul Mitchell shampoo for your dog?



Customer service is great, products are wild.

Having my dog groomed at Davis Petco was not a pleasant experience overall. I went there twice now and the groomer doesn���t appear to love dogs. She seems to be tired of grooming pets.



I brought my dog for grooming first thing in the morning, but both times, when I walked into the grooming room, she would glanced at my dog and gave a long sigh, then asked for my dog���s name. This sets a gloomy, depressing atmosphere to the place. Next, when we were discussing about how I want my dog to look, it was difficult to communicate with her. She would ask me questions like whether I want her to use scissors or clippers on my dogs legs, and when I told her that I don���t understand what she meant, she didn���t bother to explain.



I was feeling uneasy about leaving my dog at Petco with her, so I called to check on my dog. Over the phone, she said my dog is almost ready for pick-up so I decided to browse around Petco and pick my dog up as soon as he���s done being groomed. When I peeked though the window and saw my dog on the grooming table, my dog was pulling his leg away from her, and she���s fighting him for his leg to work on. I understand that very often, pets don���t like to be groomed, so they fight and yelp so the groomers would mumble to themselves or to the dog to stop yelping or struggling, but shat I saw shocked me. This groomer was yelling at my dog hysterically, and getting her frustration out on my dog. It is ridiculous that I could hear her yelling at my dog from outside the window.



I should have never brought my dog back to this Davis Petco. The whole experience was unpleasant for me, and just imagines the stress my dog had gone through. I would NOT recommend anyone going there at all.
