PetSmart

I recently had a frustrating, disappointing and discouraging experience in the grooming salon. I've been bringing my 14 lb. yorkie, who is 10 yrs. for grooming 2-3 times per year. I was told by the new manager, that Toby is not a yorkie, because they have silky long hair and do not weigh more than 7 lbs. according to AKC, and the price would be more. Because he needed a summer cut, I left him for his 1:30 appt. and told we would call in a few hours. I got a VM after 5, to call the office "about Toby". I called after 6 and was told the groomer cut his throat and over at Q-town Vet. Hospital. He should be released soon and could come and pick him up. I got up to the salon about 7:00 and again we got into a discussion regarding a "standard size yorkie". I also said now that you offer military and sr. discounts, the price went up. I was annoyed to see Toby 1" cut on his throat, and told the New Manager, I would not be coming back after today's issue. I think the groomer was Amy...Not sure as I didn't get a "report card" but was told he was a "good boy".....A young associate said he thought they should "grandfather" the yorkie specifications, since we've been bringing up with two yorkies over the past 24 years.... The manager said "well they are being more strict with dog specifications. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed with your service, the new manager, and the cleanliness of the salon. When you get a haircut the associate always sweeps up after each cut, why doesn't Pet Smart do that once in awhile, so big balls of hair aren't all over the salon for clean up the end of the day.

I shop for dog and cat supplies and have always been very happy with the selection and service. I had my toy poodle groomed there once - they did a fabulous job, she looked gorgeous, but it took them 6 hours to do her. She is a senior dog and that was too long a day for her.
