Yorkshire Pets are not licensed by AKC, owner does not keep or provide any official paperwork for the pets. When I questioned the owner "Allison" was evasive and rude on the phone and said pets are USDA approved; whatever that means. However she cannot provide any actual proof. Yet the owner charges for the pets as if they are purebred dogs which is a scam in itself. buyers beware!

First of all, their prices are excellent for a small business. Many items are cheaper than big chain stores.
I had stopped in once looking for a new tank light, which they didn't have in stock. The young girl who was working was very helpful and offered to order it if I couldn't find one that day (mine broke late the night before.) I noticed that they're the only local place that sells a specific fish treat my Cory Catfish and one of my Tetras absolutely love.
I stopped by on another day and the gentleman was incredibly nice, helpful, and even though I found everything I was looking for, indulged me by answering questions about some of the products and pets I was curious about. He too offered to order any item I ever needed if it wasn't in stock.

I had stumbled upon this pet store last summer. I had been going to all the "high end" pet stores on Rt. 94 and they no longer carried the dog food I needed (Merrick). I decided to try this place and they carried many varieties of what I needed. The sales person was very helpful in directing me to what I needed since my dog has allergies. I will be going back again this summer since I have put my dog on raw food and they are probably the only place that even carries it! Thank God I stumbled on it and went in!

This store has a 7 day return policy, but does not post it anywhere. I can understand having a policy, but it should be stated on the receipt, or made clearly understood. The employee was not helpful at all. I bought an aquarium heater that turned out to be over $30. There was no price on it, the other heaters near it were in the teens, I didn't think it would be more than double the price. I asked him if I could use one for a 5 gallon tank, I only need it 3 degrees warmer. He said no, but never suggested a different one. On the way home I realized how ridiculous it was to spend that much money on less than $4 worth of goldfish. I wasn't able to go back until 2 weeks later, and the woman told me she wouldn't take it back. Then took it out of the box and said they wouldn't have sold it scratched. Calling me a liar, because I never took it out of the box, and yes they must sell them scratched. I want to support small businesses, but this one gives you no attention, or service. There are many other pet stores in the area where they are much more helpful.
