        Basin Sports Started out in the 1950's with a partnership between Carl Searle and Garth Batty. They ran their sporting goods and electrical business out of a small store on Main Street in Vernal, Utah. This small company began to grow with the hardwork and dedication of these men. After a few years the partnership changed and DeArmon Batty became partner with his father to help run the store that he had grown up in. Over the years these men continued to work hard to provide the peopel of the Uintah Basin quality products wtih great service. There hardwork and legacy is evident today in what Basin Sports has become. Basin Sports has grown and expanded several times over the years to its current size and location. Basin Sports is still run by DeArmon Batty and his wife Jacque with the time honored values that have helped them be successful. Today Basin Sports is the areas leader in the Sporting Goods retail business. Basin Sports belongs to one of the nations largest sporting goods assocations NBS (Nations Best Sports), which allows Basin Sports to buy and negotiate directly with todays largest manufactures in all the sporting goods categories. The savings that Basin Sports is able to get allows them to have the best pricing in the industry for the products they sell, and Basin Sports is able to pass these savings on to their customers. Basin Sports has a simple plan for success. The plan is to offer the best products, wtih the best prices, with outstanding customer service.         I have been doing business with Basin Sports for years, and I was looking for a gun that they didn't have, and of course no one else in town had the gun either. So I started looking around to try and find one, and I found one in SLC, and I went back into Basin to see if they had gotten one of those guns in yet, and they had. I was shocked to see that the price was $20 less than it was in the city. I do a lot of shopping online and all around while I travel for business, and those guys have always had good prices and good customer service. I have to say they have help that actually knows something about the products they sell, which is hard to find and I have been all over from Arizona, Colorado and Utah. I am very pleased with the service and prices that this local business is offering to me, and the basin. Plus, I have been able to get ammo there when no one else has had any after the rush.

        I must say being new to the area that this place has a gold mine for a sporting good store. I have not seen many stores that stock as much product as they do. Since I have been in Vernal, I have shopped their frequently and have found they normally have what I need, a couple of times they didn't but they ordered it for me and got it pretty quick. The staff is knowledgable, and this place has a ton of stuff. I wish I had a store like this back in Louisianna.
