Today I took my twenty-nine-year-old Amazon parrot to McCloud's get his wings and nails clipped. I ended up wasting a large chunk of my day and my parrot is still unclipped. After what I saw, I wouldn't let McCloud's employees within shouting distance of my bird.

They told me the owner had time to clip my bird when she did not. They described my bird as a "blue and gold Amazon," a species that does not exist. The woman up front tried to have her fingers shortened by sticking them inside my parrot's pet carrier. I saved her from her own stupidity by pulling it out of reach just in time.

I was told I would have to wait a half hour for the owner. It was a very long "half hour" and the wait wasn't worth it.

The owner began our interaction with a snarky comment: "I called you this morning to tell you I could not clip your bird's wings!"

"What? No one called me! I called you," I said, "And I was told to come down."

"Well, I don't have time to do it," she snorted.

"Then how come I was told you could?" I asked.

"I don't know. I wasn't here," she said, as if she had no control over her employees and no responsibility for the promises they made.

I *almost* relented and let her restrain my bird while I clipped him, but everything about her told me to execute my responsibility as guardian and remove my precious double yellowheaded Amazon from the situation. "You're not touching my bird" I said as I stalked out of the pet store.

I won't be going back and as a former employee of more than one pet store, I advise you to stay away as well. Pet stores only care about the bottom line. They don't give a fig about your pet.

I got a puppy from them.When I came in to get her I found out that they had taken the wrong dog to get their shots and that my dog had not received her mandatory shots or checkup.They told me that they would call me soon when they schedule another appointment.I asked them if I could take her inmyself so I could get her the shots quickly and they told me that they have to do it.I called them when I did not receive a call and they said that my dog wouldn't get her shot until more puppies came in.I again offered to take her to the vet out of my pocket to ensure her health and they told me I could not.My dog started to show weird symptoms and was not eating.I called Vetemergency services and they told me that multiple puppies came from McCloud's had parvo and that some had already passedaway.I rushed her to the vet in the middle of the night and she tested positive for parvo.Their mistakes/laziness has been the cause of multiple deaths and likely more to come if they are not put to a stop!

I purchased a puppy a few days ago and within 6 hours I realized he had a bad case of fleas!! Then the next day when cleaning up his poop, there were worms in multiple piles!! I was told he had been treated for worms 20 days ago and was free from both worms and fleas, and any other sicknesses. When i called them they said it was not a big deal. IT IS A BIG DEAL WHEN YOU ARE SELLING ME A DOG WITH THE FLEAS AND WORMS, I SPENT $650 THERE!!! They were SO rude and soo unprofessional! I hope they treated all their dogs for fleas/worms after i told them that, i doubt it though! They couldn't even give me a straight answer on who the manager was and when i talked to the "manager", again they told me it was no big deal and according to the law they didn't need to do anything for me. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I will never purchase ANYTHING from them again, I am telling everyone and anyone...This is a small town, you cannot do that here! In fact, the more i tell people about this, the more bad things i hear about them! Especially being a family business and in a small town, it should be of upmost importance to make the customer happy with their purchasers. POOR ANIMALS!

thank god petsmart is almost here! this so called pet store freakin blows!! BIG TIME!! employees have NO knowledge of the animals they are trying to sell, they sell broken/missing items at full price, their fish, birds, reptiles and puppies are always sick. And the overall feel of the place is "they're right and the customer sucks for even asking a question!

I liked dealing with the young man who helped me. He was helpful, friendly, tried hard to service me and will definitely use them for all my pet needs.

Very Bad For LFS

Their saltwater display is poorly maintained and filtered by eclipse hoods. I would not seek advice from this store on the care of marine animals. In fact, after seeing what they are willing to do to these animals, I wouldn't trust them to hold my pencil for me.
