Perhaps the best thing about Six Flags is that they never stop improving the park. It's light years better than when I first started going. The park is generally clean and well-maintained (the Log Ride being one noticeable exception).
Currently you can save $20/person just by handing over a Coke can when you buy your ticket, but make sure you bring a can for each person - I tell you from experience that 3 cans won't get 4 people a discount. Very rigid.
Not sure if this is typical, but at least 4 times during the day we were waiting in line and the ride would either get closed, or the line would just stop moving for a LONG time, with no explanation. Either way, a lot of precious time got wasted. I must also ding them for not having fans keeping the waiting lines cooler. The heat was pretty withering.
Hurricane harbor is the place to go. They have the Lazy River and Hooks Lagoon and picnic tables and it's the most fun you can have and still stay in Texas! Take your family and GO!

Provided by SuperpagesIf you want to stay cool on a hot summer day then you should visit Hurricane Harbor. They have some very fun and cool water rides that never get boring. Great place to take the kids for some outdoor adventure.

Provided by SuperpagesIf you have lots of money to spend and want to get out of the heat, Hurricane Harbor could work for you. My biggest complaint is that the concrete is unbearably hot in the summers yet they expect their customers to schlep around in flip flops. As with most amusement centers, they rip you off with food/drink and parking prices. The wave pool is still the best bet. Most of the rides are hum drum and generally not worth the wait or the cardio exercise. The lakes around Dallas/Ft Worth are way more fun!
