General Info
Stretching just over three miles, these spectacular caves beneath the hills east of Nerja contain impressive stalactite and stalagmites formations. Discovered by accident in 1959, the cave has many well-marked routes, though not all are open to the public because of conservation and archaeological efforts. Cave paintings, fossils and skeletal remains have been excavated here, which you can find displayed at the Nerja Museum. Hop on the red tourist train to get to the caves from Nerja. During peak seasons, opt for skip-the-line tickets to jump ahead or take an exclusive night tour for fewer crowds. ā€“ TripadvisorStretching just over three miles, these spectacular caves beneath the hills east of Nerja contain impressive stalactite and stalagmites formations. Such an awesome family activity to do! It was a beautiful view! The kids loved that it was 90's at the bottom, but there was snow at the top.

Go swimming and snow sledding in Palm Springs on the same day! In the winter, there can be more than a foot of snow at the top of the mountain. You'll want to get here as soon as the tramway opens to avoid the snarl of traffic that occurs by mid-morning. It's a scenic ride up in the tram to a lodge where there's a restaurant (which I did not try). To get to the snow, you have to walk down a sometimes icy/treacherous pathway from the lodge, so be advised.
