Cudjoe Gardens Marina

forget the bad press! love this marina!

we live in the neighborhood and use the marina several times a week....the staff (alan and dylan) are super friendly, eager to help and knowledgable about the local waters and fishing scene.....every time we go in there, no matter what the conveyance, and we go by many, lol, big boat, small boat, on foot, by car or paddleboards, we are greeted with a friendly smile, all the conveniences of a small town marina and gas pumps that ALWAYS have fuel....two thumbs up for our hometown boys!!!

I couldn’t tell you how the boats are but the customer service is HORRIABLE. I called and spoke to Tim on 6/11 to reserve a rental boat for 3 days 6/26 – 6/28 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). He happily took my credit card info and reservation. I had no problems with that meeting. It was very businesslike. That is where the pleasant customer service ended. There happened to be a small craft advisory on Tuesday. So I called Tim at 8:30 am to ask if we could still get the boat, I have been boating all 32 years of my life and understand that with a small craft advisory they wouldn’t want their boat out but wanted to check. I got no answer so I left a message and asked if he could please call me back so I didn’t make a trip up to the marina for no reason. By 9:30 am I still had not received a call back. I would think a good business man knowing that he had a reservation on the books would have called me first and say that he would not let the boat be taken out, but this did not happen. I would have also hoped that the phone call that I made in the morning would have been returned to at least say don’t bother making the trip up to the marina. I not only got zero phone calls from him but when I did make the trip up to the marina I was met with a horrible attitude. I approached Tim, who was pointed out to me by an employee at the marina, I was not met with anything. Not a hello, yes, or how may I help you. Nothing. So I told him that I would like to rent a boat. He responded “What day” I told him that I called a few weeks ago and reserved a boat for “today, tomorrow and Thursday”. His response was a very snotty loud “NOPE”. Not well I’m sorry but I can’t let the boat go out today, or Sorry but the windy conditions don’t allow me to rent boats today. Just a snotty NOPE. Hey thanks Tim. You could have easily called me or even returned the phone call I made to you and I would have been happy. It would have saved me a few hours of running around and wasting my time on my family vacation. I understand you have to protect your investment but I will never go back there. Judging by the only other review on this site at the time of my review I guess I am lucky that I didn’t get to go out in your boat.
