Providence Parks Department, is a part of the Providence City Council. The department has various athletic fields, and also handles trees of city's forestry department and all of street trees. It takes care of more than 1,200-acres of land and over 110 park spaces. Providence Parks Department also manages more than 95 neighborhood park spaces and over 10 downtown parks. The department operates the North Burial Ground and Locust Grove cemeteries, and Roger Williams Park. Providence Parks Department is located in Providence, R.I. The council has various departments, including animal control, arts, culture and tourism, board of canvassers, and central purchasing. It also has city clerk, collector s, communications, and archives and history offices.
