Overall

My hunting buddies and I have been to the Archery Shoppe a handful of times over the last seven years and always had good service. Small repairs are handled promptly and often without charge. I've bought sights, releases, and arrows. Haven't bought a bow yet, but a hunting buddy recently got a good deal on a double-cam Bear left over from last year. They do get a little busy near hunting season, so I try to go during the day if I need something right before a hunt. YMMV, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this business to a friend.

Terrible customer service after the sale

I bought a Bowtech Invasion here. 6 months later the limbs cracked. They kept the bow for 2 months telling me that the limbs were on order. I contacted Bowtech, and they would not tell me if the limbs were ordered or not, but suddenly, my bow was ready right before my elk hunt. The bow shot terribly during my hunt, and afterwards I figured out that they had put 60# limbs on my 70# bow and twisted the string to make it 70 pounds! Bowtech wouldn't do anything about it, and I'm never going back to The Archery Shoppe, so I'm buying a Hoyt now, and will have to travel out of Albuquerque to do so.

I am a newbie. I took an elderly compound bow in yesterday for some arrows, and John took over my bow, added some much needed parts, fixed the string, reset the draw, and then took me in to the firing range and taught me how to stand, how to draw, and how to release. Thanks for your help, John. I really appreciate the training.

didnt have time for a rookie

I am new to archery and took a used bow that I was given at Christmas to have restrung and looked over. I was told it would take two days. 7 days later I had not heard from them and went to check, nothing had been done. I was told that the bow was too old to fix. I asked if maybe a used bow or new bow would be a good idea and they said "the used are there and the new ones are over there" and turned around and resumed their conversation with the other employess. I didnt know much about archery and they were not willing to help. No other customers were in the store. I took my bow to Sportsmans and while I was there my Bow was repaired, they answered all of my questions and sold my son a bow and me arrows and accessories. I am amazed that the staff at the Archery Shop let a 600.00 sale walk out of their store. I wont be back. Terrible service. The truth of the matter is that I have other friends who have taken up archery with me and I tell them this story and they too will avoid the Archery shop.
