This location, on the corner of 36th & Douglas Dr. in Crystal, Minnesota, opened in 1992 We are a full line aquatic store with a huge selection of Tropical (freshwater) and Saltwater (marine) fish collected from breeders and farms located in 20+ countries around the world. Some species are still wild caught, with expectations of cultured breeding in years to come. We are licensed to sell Native Minnesota pan and game fish, plus we offer cold water KOI and Ornamental goldfish for the indoor or patio pond enthusiast.         Best Advice

        Every single time I go to this store, I get the best advice. Everyone is extremely helpful, and always making sure I get what I need. Whenever I have a problem the first thing I do is go to Aquatropics. I have 3 tanks and they all are doing great, I give my thanks to this store!

        Filthy and disgusting

        I wish they had an option to give this store zero stars. As a Betta aficionado, I have spent years caring for these wonderful fish. I stopped in to this store to see what they had to offer and where they source their fish. They had a huge stack of small cups with Bettas in them on the front counter. The cups were absolutely filthy and full of waste, and the water barely filled half the cup. The fish looked very sick/depressed. I went up to the counter and asked the girl with what looked like clown-like eye make-up on (you can't miss her) how often they changed the water and she said about every week and a half. Are you kidding me???? I asked her why she thinks it's ok to force a fish to live in their waste and the constant build-up of ammonia from that in a small cup like that for that long and she actually stated, and I quote, "It's actually very good for them." In what wonky parallel universe would that be??? I walked out of there extremely angry and very sad, wishing I could save

        a fish store you would want to return to

        ~This fish store Will impress you. The tanks are Very well-kept/clean/maintained with pride you can tell. The fish are in excellent condition and beautiful...wide selection to choose from too! The staff are professional/nice/never too busy to assist you as I notice the Opposit at other places. This is my favorite twin cities fish store...I go searching all the time for a better one..but this one always comes out better.
