Riverbanks Zoo was one of our favorite stops on our vacation! The animals looked healthy and happy and there were many exhibits to visit. The zoo was clean, the price was amazing, and it wasn't overly crowded. I loved how you could get so close to the giraffes and feed them. That was one of my favorite parts. :) We stayed for about 4 hours and really took everything in. I recommend this zoo to anyone who is planning a trip to the Columbia area. It will definitely be worth it!! If I ever have the opportunity, I will certainly visit again. :)

The Riverbanks Zoo is a hidden gem in the Columbia area, and has a much more polished look and a wider variety of exhibits (including many hands-on opportunities that the kids loved) than you would expect to find in a small city. It is definitely worth the trip.

one of the best zoos i've been to. it's not so obnoxiously large that you can't walk through it in an afternoon, but it's definitely not small either. it was a blast when i took my two kids. we all had so much fun. but minus one star for the columbia summer HEAT. bring water!

The security there are a bunch of jerks, especially the black guy and the horrible magician. Also, I think that Riverbanks might be a little on the racist side (check out who all of the janitors are and the people that serve food and compare it to the "regular" zoo staff). I think that if they actually hired people that were experienced and experts with animals instead of hiring friends and family, the animals might have a longer lifespan.

Provided by SuperpagesVisiting the riverbanks zoo was a great experience. I have not been since i was in elementary school. all the new cool add ons was just breath taking. This was my first family trip and we decided to go to the zoo everyone laughed and said oh thats going to be boring, but you know what my husband and kids really enjoyed it. we do plan to return to see what new addition will come next summer. thanks so much!!
