        UNACCEPTABLE!

        My youngest rat, Midnight, was sneezing a lot and I had a free 30 day vet visit for any concerns. I said "why not? It's free, even if it's just allergies at least she's ok". I took her to petco, they said I had to return her, they'd give me a gift card that matches her cost, then when she's ready to go home in about 2 weeks, I repurchase her. It's been 2 weeks, I call them today. Apparently they've been trying to get a hold of me for a week...they were calling the wrong number!! After a week of no response, they returned her with the other rats. I told them over the phone to go to the rats and look for one with half of the tail black and the other clear. THERE ARE TOO MANY THAT LOOK LIKE THAT! THEY DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE IS MY RAT!! THAT'S MY BABY GIRL!! And I can't sue or do anything because they had me return her!!!!! They told me I had two weeks, they returned her after one! They took my baby girl!

        The prices are kind of high, but the products here are good, and the customer service is excellent. I wandered in needing stuff for a wild baby rabbit I decided to adopt after it sort of fell into my life, and I was standing there somewhat baffled in front of the small animal cages, and a young worker on her way to doing something else stopped and asked me if I needed help. I know, that part happens in large chain big box stores, but here's the thing, she was actually a tremendous amount of help. And she didn't subject me to some irritating scripted regurgitation of useless corporate advertising lines, she acted personally interested in my actual needs, and within a minimum amount of time, I was out the door with EVERYTHING I needed to house my new pet rabbit in the same domicile as my two devious cats. It's all about the employees if you ask me.

        The selection was very vast, wonderful selection to choose from & the staff was very helpful and friendly to me and my dog!!
