Petco

I recently visited Petco in Auburn and Thopsum Maine and was pleasantly surprised. I have had both planted and plain freshwater and saltwater aquariums for over twenty years. After speaking with the staff in the fish departments I can see that Petco has done well training some of their staff. Knowledge and what I call fish passion are rarely seen gifts bestowed on personnel in pet stores. My thanks to all who understand and accommodate those who really know what they want when purchasing aquarium fish and supplies. Petco carries some high quality products so people can enjoy their fish for many years.Life is to short and joy is bountiful when quality aquarians share their love for aquarium fish.

The fish dept is great to certain degree. The upside is good variety, and the store being open in case you have an emergency to deal with. The downside linked ith all Petco stores is the fact that all aquariums (sick fish and healthy fish) tanks are all linked together in terms of filtration units. The sick fish "under observation" are not really seperate from the healthy ones. It just appears that way because customers are not able to look at the plumbing setup. Beware saltwater fish lovers!!!
