Great people who really know and have a passion for the aquaria they sell. Awesome prices and a great place to find the more uncommon species of freshwater and salt water fish and inverts. If you're looking for healthy and gorgeous stock for you new or established tank, this is the place to go!

Overall
seeking saltwater fish

I was sent there by pets mart to get some answers answered about getting into salt water aquariums. Walked in and not greeted so I went up to thecounter and asked if he (believe the manger) could help me with what I needed to get started with salt water. He said well we got a book here that can answer all your questions. I said well what kind of filter would I need to start up a 75 gal tank and he said well it all depends on you. I said well I see the filters but not sure on any of them and he replied the same way. I told him thanks and walked out and will never go back. Very rude and will not spend a dime in that store.

Overall
Okay store, ver questionable service

The store is okay. Reasonable selection of products, prices not outrageous and nothing to write home about either. The tanks look clean and clear, selection of corals and fish is mediocre at best. However my experience with staff/owners leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I am not a novice marine tank hobbyist and even worked for several years in a salt water specialty aquarium store. However, trying to engage in conversation or get detailed answers from the gentleman owner is frustrating and near impossible. Quite frankly he is condescending, unhelpful, and appears to not give a damn. Right now I am about to spend close to $2000 on a new tank and equipment. I have given this shop several chances to earn my business and they have failed epically. As much as I try to support local businesses, Seascapes Aquatics will not be one of them. In my opinion Seascape Aquatics is nothing more than an emergency supply store lacking courteous customer service.

I walked into seascape, and was the only customer in the store while 4 employees where in there, not one of them even looked my way, said hello, or asked if they could help me. After about 3 minutes I turned around and walked out, and took my business to tropical treasures, which had a better selection and a lot better customer service. I would not recommend going to Seascape Aquatics for anything

Overall

I am a beginning fish collector and had the unfortunate experience of purchasing my tank mates elsewhere at big name pet stores. These stores left me with no information on how to take proper care of my fish, and gladly let me take home extremely incompatible fish species. I later had to take them back so that they would not kill each other.

When I walked into Seascape Aquatics, I was immediately impressed. Although they are a small store, their selection is incredible. They have the cleanest tanks I have seen in an aquatic retail store. This shows me that they truly care about the life of the fish and not just the money that they make off of it.

As far as costumer service goes, I was just as impressed. I had so many questions and came in right before the stores scheduled closing time. The wonderful lady that assisted me, stayed well past to help me find my new tank mates and give me as much information as possible to insure their survival. Any question I had, she had a great answer. I left knowing that my new fish would be perfect for me as a beginner and that I wouldn't be having any more surprises.

I will always go back to this store whenever I need anymore aquatic friends for needs.

Would rather go to Petco. I purchased two Cory Catfish from Seascape Aquatics, and within two days ONE of the two Catfish died. I took the fish back to the store and they refused to replace it stating that it is my fault. I have been a fish hobbyist my whole life and have never had a fish die that quickly. If you're looking for a store that has Ick in most of their tanks than this is the place to go. Overall terrible customer service.

Being new to the salt water aq...

Being new to the salt water aquarium hobby, I thought I would dive in to this hobby by first visiting my local aquarium store. Seascape Aquatics was the only one that I knew of, so I kept visiting the store in order to walk around, get a feel for the environment and staff, and to also ask questions. I had visited once before so that I could purchase some pleco’s for my fresh water tank. I was greeted by a very friendly lady who was eager to help me, test my water, provide some good insight on fresh water tank maintenance, etc. Because of that great service, I decided that I would return later when I was ready to start the salt water tank. I haven’t seen that lady since….

I went back in a few weeks later in hopes that I could get some answers to some of the questions I had written down for myself. I had done some research on my own on the subject, but I still wanted to get some one-on-one interaction with a professional at my LFS. So my first trip in, as a new salt water client, was a horrible experience. There was a man (whom I’m assuming is the owner) as well as an older lady (not the same lady as mentioned above). There was nobody in the store at the time so I figured that eventually one of the two people would ask me if I needed some assistance. This was a false assumption because I walked around the store for about 15 minutes then finally decided that I would approach the man and start asking my questions. He was very short with me, and very rude I might add. He acted as if he truly did not care about my questions, or the fact that I could potentially be a new, returning client. I had every intention on being a returning customer of theirs, spending a potentially large sum of money on this new hobby, in his store. I blew this bad experience off, chalking it up to “he had a bad day”. So I returned again a few days later, only to experience the exact same attitude towards my questions. The final straw was just recently, a third and final visit in to this un-friendly establishment. This time, I actually confronted him. I kindly asked him if I had wrong him in a previous encounter or if it was something wrong with me. As I would imagine, he was very confrontational and still very rude. I still tried to give him and his store, the benefit of the doubt and proceeded with my questions..trying to put our confrontation in the past. Long story short, I eventually just thanked him for his time and walked out.

My recommendation: if you are a new customer, looking for answers, do not try this store. They are simply not interested in helping you out. They seem more geared toward existing customers and just being happy with selling to their existing customers. Their idea of “help” is suggesting that you buy their book that outlines processes, not customer service. I will never step foot in this store again!!

Great for the location

Seascape has always treated us well and the fish and corals have all been healthy and survived in our tanks. The knowledge of the staff is pretty much up there, and way ahead of the curve compared to most fish scoopers in most of the establishments I have been in before.

Some of the previous reviews seem a little brutal and it is a fish store not Walmart. I couldn't care less about their personal habits or those of the perfect people that posted that stuff.

Indications to me of a good Local Fish Store (LFS) are healthy fish, a staff that won't hesitate to feed them or hold them a few days if uncertain, and a well leafed 500+ book available.

We'll continue to patronize Seascape happily!

Can you say "Customer Service" or lack there of!

In the highly specialized market of Marine Aquatics, I would assume that the purveyors of marine fish supplies would be extremely motivated to provide excellent customer service to ensure repeat customers. Also, it could be assumed that the owners of a business this specialized would themselves be very enthusiastic about the hobby and eager to engage the customer regarding their requirements and needs.

My experience, which has been evidenced by multiple visits to this store, is that the owner is neither worried about staying competitive nor eager to address the needs of his perspective clients. My impression of the store is that the products are significantly priced over market value, and that the owner could care less whether something was purchased or not. In fact his entire demeanor is indifferent as to whether a customer enters the store or not.

There are many other suppliers in the Colorado Springs market that warrant my business. I will never go back.
