- The Walter Anderson Museum was opened in 1991 and is dedicated to the celebration of the works of Walter Inglis Anderson, an American master, whose depiction of the plants, animals and people of the Gulf Coast have placed him among the foremost of American painters of the Twentieth Century.The watercolors, drawings, oils, block prints, ceramics, and carvings by the three Anderson brothers are all represented in the museum's permanent collection.
