Very nice zoo, with some sweet animals and some exotic animals I had not heard of before. I am a young Senior citizen. I found the size of the zoo to be very manageable to walk around. There are also benches to sit on and a picnic shelter. The zoo personnel let my husband and I know when the penguins were going to be fed; that was interesting. We want to return for another visit.

Provided by SuperpagesHemker Park & Zoo is great. I brought my family to the zoo for a day to enjoy outside and learn about great animals, play on the fun play ground and have a picnic with some of my family that I have not seen for years. I will be planning my next family reunion with them. The zoo is beatuiful and well kept with colorful flowers and very clean. The animals are exotic and things that I would not expect to see especially since some of the other zoos do not have these animals that hemker park and zoo has. The animals look very healthy and happy and you can tell that the staff truly care about the animals. The staff go out of their way to help you make sure that they can give advice, educate and so on. I had a blast and I am looking forward to coming again to see the new exhibits. I have been here several times, each year it is fun to go because they are always adding new additions to their zoo. Love it and will be going back again and again. I would recommend this zoo to everyone I know!!!
