General Info

The Wood River Fire Protection District, doing business as Wood River Fire and Rescue-WRFR, provides fire protection and emergency response services for more than 10,000 residents living in an area of over 1,500 square miles. Founded in 1974, the district employs several full-time associates and nearly 20 paid-call employees, including captains, lieutenants and firefighters. It is governed by a board of fire commissioners and maintains a fleet of ladders, engines, water tenders and ambulances. Wood River Fire and Rescue-WRFR offers public safety education and fire prevention, inspection and suppression services. The District provides emergency medical transport services for Bellevue, Gannett and Carey counties in Idaho. It organizes fire drills and rescue training sessions. Wood River Fire and Rescue-WRFR is located in Hailey, Idaho.
