Texas Family Fitness

I have been a member of Tex Family Fitness for 2 yrs. I especially like my Personal Trainer. He is very professional, well trained & has helped me tremendously with rotator cuff problems and core strength .

Most of the staff is great however there is one tall blonde who is rude, stares people down and makes comments to her older trainer friend. My girlfriend trainer with her once and said it was the most uncomfortable session she has ever had! We are all there to improve our health, don't make women feel uncomfortable with you unprofessionalism! Anyone else has a problem speak to someone about it!

I’m writing this review as a warning to all the people who may be interested on hiring a trainer at Texas Family Fitness facilities. This is not aimed at the equipment used or the space or anything else as frivolous as that. This is aimed at warning you about your money and their business practices and how they will try to keep your money.

I joined the Texas Family Fitness facility several months ago and liked the gym and the services they could provide and offered. The gym is clean, up-to-date, and the people who work there are amicable enough. But BEWARE (I wish I could have that in red flashing letters) of their business practices. When I first joined I asked for a physical trainer. I met with a couple of people and settled on one. There are no prices advertised by TFF and how much a trainer would cost. So I negotiated a priced with a trainer and hired him to train me for 20 sessions. After only 3 weeks, he left the facility and I was “issued” a new trainer. Luckily, I knew my new trainer and it worked out. So now I have used up the sessions I had negotiated with the original trainer and had to renew with my new trainer. My price went up 40% for the new trainer, from $500 to $700. But I liked his training methods and we got along so I paid it. I continued to pay at this rate having to resign every time we renegotiated. Now he has moved on and I’m left with 21 sessions at a cost of $735 and they want to “issue” me yet another trainer. I don’t know if my trainer knew at the time I was going to sign or if the facility knew that he was moving on, but they accepted my money happily. Now, I refuse to accept yet another trainer and one that I am not interested in working out with; hiring someone to workout with you is a very personal thing. So I’ve asked for my money to be refunded and allow me to decide on whether or not I want a new trainer or just to train on my own and was flat out told, take it or leave it!! If I don’t accept the new trainer, they will keep my money nonetheless. This is beyond unacceptable, I haven’t even used 1 of the last 20 sessions I paid for in good faith. At this point, I was just want a refund and to avoid all Texas Family Fitness centers. I truly hope that this helps someone to avoid the pitfall I am currently in. Now if they do refund me my money, I will update this post with any new info. I will also be posting this across every website review I find and warning all my friends via blogs and any other medium I can locate.

Not a fancy fitness center but clean, well maintained and has all the essentials. I am very happy with the Kidsclub staff. They treat my children well and seem to really care. The price is very reasonable compared to other fitness centers. I have been a member for three years and feel I am getting a good value for my money.

Liking TFF so far. For me its perfect b/c they have a daycare I can take the kids to while I workout and its affordable. Was disapointed in their kickboxing class, b/c it was more dance crap tied in with kickboxing than actual kickboxing. So that was kinda misleading. I would have signed up for the actual turbokick if I wanted pansy crap lol. Would be nice to get a little more serious classes going in there, but I guess all the ladies like a dance workout.

LOTS of cardio equipment, which is great if you like that.

NEEDS to get more serious weightlifting equipment, my husband comes in everyonce in a while to train and he gets pissed there is only like 2 back machines and the weights only go up to a certain amount. If you are a serious bodybuilder this gym wont be for you b/c its lacking some of the basic bodybuilding machines.



There are a TON of new personal trainers that are just waiting in anticipation for any new blood so they can sign them up to train them.



Overall staff is nice, love the children's room staff and that room is very well organized and kept clean. 5 stars on that!



Overall it suites my needs for now, would get hubby to sign up if hours were later & weightlifting equipment was better!

Texas Family Fitness is a terrible place to have a membership. DO NOT GO THERE! They will screw you over with their stupid cancellation policy. I know of multiple people that have had problems with their billing process. Someone opened two accounts under my name. Then when I updated my information they only changed it one account and kept trying to bill for the other that I wasn't paying. Now I'm cancelling and they still want to charge me for the last month’s fees when I haven't even been refunded what I got overcharged. AWEFULL CUSTOMER SERVICE! So I get to be a member of a place that has caused me extreme inconvenience and I don't want to be a member at any longer but I have my membership for two more months!!! Are you kidding me?!

After driving by several times I thought I'd see if it was affordable. Looked them up to find that though they say a non intimidating eniornment and affordable there is no price and no email address available on their website. Very poor website links don't even work. I called to find out their price. Wow talk about used car salesman approach. When I said "can I just get a price" I was told quote " If you don't know how gym memberships work you shouldn't take such a hostile attitude". Wow coming from someone in sales and customer service that made me just want to come visit a there place of business. Not only that but when calling back to speak to a manager I got the same rude salesperson who then told me his manager wasn't available.



Oh well there loss was really hoping to find a gym close by for a quick work out but not willing to take crap for the sake of convenience.
