I've been getting tattooed from hector for more than 3 years. He has done almost all my tattoos, including a full sleeve. I would not go to any other artist but him. Truly satisfied with his amazing work. Just check out his portfolio and you will see what I mean!

Great place to get a tattoo. Scott has some of the best artwork around. I told him what I was looking for and he drew it up and put it on. Every time people see the artwork he did they always say how good the color looks and how sharp the lines are. I would recommend this shop to anyone.

I had a great experience getting my first tattoo by the owner Scott Cooksey! He created a WWII aviation themed half sleeve for me that is truely a piece of art on my body. I have a one of a kind tattoo that everyone loves as soon as they see it. I highly recommend checking out Lone Star Tattoo before going anywhere else. Every artist in there is gifted at what they do. While sitting there for my sessions, I've seen a few of the others work. You can't go wrong with whoever you choose. Another thing that I was very impressed with was how clean this place is! They go the extra mile to make sure everything is sterile and safe. I will be going back for Scott to create my next masterpiece in the very near future!

I've had several pieces of work done by Trey and piercings by Jen. The shop is always clean and accommodating. I've referred friends and will continue to go back. Highly recommended if you want REAL artwork.

I got my tattoo from the owner, Scott, and he put a tremendous amount of work and effort into it. It came out so much better than I could have hoped. I have shown it off to family and friends and have received countless compliments. I have already scheduled my next tattoo and frankly can't wait to get back there to get it started. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality piece. I have met some of the other artists that work there as well and they are all very nice and talented. 5 stars !

I have been here for every tattoo and some piercings thus far. The people here are mellow, relaxed, laid-back people. So no, they won't jump up and meet you with a smile at the door- but they will tell you exactly what you need to know, do good and clean work, and get you done and out in a manner that is not tense or stressful or leaving you guessing. The shop is what it is, it's a tattoo parlor not a five star Hilton hotel. But it's the amazing artists who keep a mellow conversation, are confident and casual in tattooing and piercing, tolerant of inexperienced customers, that keep me coming back. I love this place, and I recommend it to everyone. But don't walk in expecting a bunch of uppity well-to-do men in suits tattooing you in a hospital-esque chrome and white store- it's a TATTOO PARLOR.

It never ceases to amaze me that
people will spend a hundred dollars a
week on cigarettes and another
hundred on sodas, but don't seem to
want to pay for a tattoo. In the past 5
years I've heard more grumbling about
tattoo pricing than any other thing, and
honestly, it gets annoying.
We are artists, and we have bills to pay
too. We don't do this as a hobby, we do
it as a lifelong career. We work
sometimes 16 hours a day, 5 to 6 days
a week and sometimes more and barely
pay the bills.
You, the customer, come in and see a
tattoo for $200 and you think its too
expensive. We finish putting our heart
and soul into it and we look at it with
pride, but think it wasn't expensive
enough. The artist only makes a
percentage of that tattoo, and it might
be half of the work he does that week.
If he closes the week taking home $500
he feels like he has done well, but after
calculating his hours and finding he has
worked 70 hours for that $500, you find
that he makes less than minimum
wage.
But you, the customer often complain
about the price and if the artist doesn't
come down you might well go to
another studio that does worse work for
a better price, or go to a scratcher
running out of his home.
I never wanted to be rude to anyone, I
never wanted to be difficult, but when
customers complain about the price, I
find myself wanting to tell them that if
they don't care about the quality of their
work, I will gladly send them to an artist
in another studio who is no good and
will charge you what he is worth. Things have changed since I entered
the tattoo world, and not really for the
better. It used to be that people took
pride in their tattoos. It expressed
something for them and they would
save up to pay what it was worth to get
a piece of art that was uniquely THEM.
They would not go to a second rate
artist to get a better deal, they would
hunt out the best work and pay what
the work was worth.
$50 tattoos have always been part of
the tattoo world but it was until a few
years ago, a small part of it. Now it
seems to be overwhelming it with this
idea that I can get the smallest tattoo
possible for the cheapest price. Today
it isn't about expression so much as
fashion and no one wants to pay for
fashion. Today just HAVING the tattoo
is enough. The cheaper the better and
if the quality is no good...well who
cares, it was CHEAP! So what, you can
cover it with a quarter!
The title: Tattoo Collector used to be
worn with pride, but today I was told,
"I'm not a collector, I just like tattoos"
Ahhh, how times have changed.
I long for the days when people wanted
works of art, and were willing to do
whatever it took to get it, I long for the
days when people hung out at the
Tattoo Parlor and brought all their
friends, I long for the day when getting
your first tattoo was a rite of passage
and not something to be rushed, but
something to be planned and
experienced. I long for the day when
Tribal Tattoos were restricted to the
Tribes that wore them.
Ahhh, how times have changed.
The truth is that they have changed,
and the appreciation of the art is
lacking, and that is simply the way it is.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! We drove a couple of hours to get tattoos done last weekend, and we called the night before. Whoever we talked to said if we arrived exactly at 1pm (which is when they open) then we should be able to get in without a problem. Well we were early, and waiting outside their shop. When these guys arrived, they did not greet us, and treated us like we were stray dogs or something sitting outside their raggedy shop. We finally just decide to follow them inside, and none of them would even address us or help us. So i asked who we needed to speak with to get some work done. One guy lied and said he had an appointment, and the other guy who looked like he just rolled out of bed reluctantly approached me and asked me what we wanted done. He (Marcos) was very very unfriendly, and everything we suggested we wanted done (simple words, very simple symbol, etc) he said that unless we bring in a picture of exactly what we want he could not help us. Not to mention, for 6 words on an arm he wanted to charge almost $300! The place was not clean, my feet kept sticking to a spot on the floor near the counter. The toilet was clogged and disgusting. The guys were (sad to say) pretty greasy looking and very hungover looking. There was a girl there in tears getting some lettering done, and it just didnt seem right at all. Honestly, we dodged a bullet by him being so unfriendly. We ended up finding another place very nearby, and they were amazing by comparison. Dont make the same mistake we did. Go somewhere else.

Let me first say when I went here early 2012 the man who tattooed me was very friendly, though I had to wait 4 hours for a tattoo that took 10 minutes and during that time me and my boyfriend were treated as though we were in the way (we weren't). Once I finally got to get my tattoo I told him what I wanted and he went and made a stencil. I checked the stencil for spelling errors there were none. Once the stencil was on me I checked again, still none. So we started with the tattoo super quick and easy. I left and once I got home I took a really good look at it and it was misspelled. I texted my tattoo artist and told him of this and he said he'd fix it for free (it was a simple making a v to an n, but none the less)
Now that I've had my tattoo for about a year I absolutely hate it. Not what the tattoo is, the tattoo.all of the lines are very shaky and faded in random spots. The wording
is very thick and close together so if I went and got it fixed itd just look like a black rectangle on my shoulder.
Tl;dr- nice people but mediocre work.

Not a very Friendly place. My girlfriend wanted to get her dog print tattoo'ed on her shoulder so I called them up for advice. The guy who answered said Oh no problem bring him up here and we will scan it in for you. Now I thought this was really odd seeing as they have to be so clean but what do I know as a customer.
So we drive up there and when we tell we are there to get a tattoo he tells us we can't have the dog there. Ok no problem so how are they going to scan his foot in? They don't do that and the only thing they could do is stick his foot in the print but thats going to hurt the dog. So I get annoyed and ask him who was answering the phone and why they have wasted my time blah blah.. It goes no where of course..
My point is if they could not do it why not tell me that over the phone I have a scanner at my house. Or why tell me to bring my dog up there then act like I'm a moron for doing so? Either way not customer friendly..
you're an idiot

Went a few months ago and got a super fabulous tattoo, by Trey. He did awesome, very professional, and very nice. I did a lot of research trying to find an exceptional artist, I found him here.

I went to lonestar looking for an awesome artist that could become my regular artist. And when I looked at Mr.Joshua's portfolio I knew I found him. He is very professional and awesome artist. He was also featured in several tattoo magazines which put the icing on the cake for me. I will definitely be using him again and again!!

No tat grease used, some spots are dug in so deep its the worse work I have seen from a tat shop. the picture vs what i have look, well not even related. I thought was infected. but the doc says no just over traumatized my damn skin. Now I have to wait for the healing and hope covering what he did is an option. I was getting a cover up, he did cover it up. but dug the needle so far into my skin you can see the deep scab on the lines. went and had a tattoo done yesterday at another shop virtually pain free, this guy actually had me writhing in pain and said it was due to the area i was gettng done. well I do not agree. Had a call into the owner and have not recieved a call back yet. that is why I am not using name (yet) If I dont heear from owner then I will have to escalate. just stay clear of this shop.
