Kids Count Too

I cannot begin to say how happy I am to have my son at Kids Count Too. I was one of those nervous nelly mothers going back to work. I trusted very few people to care for him. What I found in Kids Count has been a true blessing. It is clean, secure, and an incredibly nurturing environment. My son looks forward to going everyday. He comes home having learned something new everyday, always excited to tell me all about it. These teachers are committed to preparing kids for school. Socially, and academically. He truly blossomed after starting at Kids Count. If my sons teacher (Ms Hillary, who he ADORES) had to be out for any reason, the first thing he would do is tell me he couldn’t wait to see her the next day. The bond that is built, the trust my child has in every teacher there, and the attention he had received individually has made his transition to Kindergarten so easy. He continues to go to Kids Count for a portion of his day, and will for as long as he is able. I truly trust Kids Count with my child. I am always made aware immediately with any health concern that they may have while he’s there. Ms. Liz and Ms. Becky are always so great about keeping the line of communication open, so I am always at ease. Kids Count has become like family to my son and myself. There is absolutely no place else that I would trust with my child’s care. I know he is in great hands every day. I recommend them to anybody I can who is in need of a great preschool, and my future little ones will all be attending as well. It is truly a gem in our community.

If I could give this establishment 0 stars I would. I THOUGHT this was a great place. My daughter went there from age 3-5 and we had no issues - though she could talk so I firmly because it is because the staff is on their best behavior around the kids who can tell you what they do. I assumed I could trust these people with my 12 week old. I have worked in childcare centers in Texas so I am extremely familiar with the regulations that are supposed to be followed, especially for infants. (All of which the regulations are put in place for the child's safety) On paper they appear to follow the rules - make you bring a sleep sack because they can't have blankets, etc and they are only supposed to sleep in the cribs - ie, no swings etc. My son's first week there I showed up during nap time to pick him up. I wasn't allowed to go get him, he was brought out to me so I wouldn't "wake anyone else up" though I'm unsure how the 2 teachers who brought him out to me are any quieter than me. I thought it was odd I wasn't allowed back. Every time I picked him up he was either asleep in a Mama Roo or laying on a play mat in his crib. Regulations state babies are to be in their cribs to sleep and for up to 30 min after they wake if they are happy. Cribs are not supposed to be used to confine the babies. They had no space on the floor for the younger babies to explore (also against regulations) and they had walking children in the same room. In the 2 weeks he went there I only observed a teacher holding him 1 time. The rest of the time he was in the Mama Roo or crib, even if he was awake. The first week I had an issue with the teachers overfeeding him and when I went to discuss it with them, they acted like I was putting them out. They said he never cried. I'm certain they were just feeding him on order TO keep him quiet. They also commented on how quiet he was, which I thought bizarre because if you interact with him he is extremely vocal, and I never...

My child currently attends Kids Count Too and he loves it!! We have never had an issue with diapers or wipes. Every time we bring them in they are documented in a book with the date and how many we brought in. I love that they do this so we know exactly what day we last brought them. My son also loves the teachers, so do I! They are very sweet and caring. He is always so excited to go to school every morning! He comes home with new dance moves and sings all types of songs. I really enjoy that my son always brings home artwork that pertains to the 'letter of the week'. He has learned so much being here and we are SO happy we chose Kids Count Too!! All around great environment, very clean and well constructed. I'm proud to say my son is a KIDS COUNT KID!

My daughter is 4 about to be 5 years old and has been attending kids count too since she was 18 months old. In the 3 1/2 years I have not had one complaint or problem with them. They give the perfect amount of discipline and academic help to the children. My daughter was able to write her name when she was about to turn 4 years old! I'm impressed beyond words and will have my daughter enrolled until she can't be enrolled anymore! If only they took high schoolers too… :)

This is my first time placing my son in daycare. Overall I would say its a good daycare but it has its faults. My main complaint is them losing my sons diapers that we brought the prior week and then telling us we didn't bring any. Trying to talk to the directors about it is pointless they will pretend they care and tell you they will look into it but when you readdress the issue they say they will check into it. Clearly they never checked into it before and they are just saying anything they can to get you to leave.

I went to Kids Count Too when it was originally called Kids Count. All I can remember about that place is how much fun I had there and that it felt like my second home. I loved waking up every morning knowing that I would be going to Kids Count. I had some of my best childhood memories there!



Now, I have a child of my own and wouldn't take him anywhere else BUT Kids Count Too!!! I trust and love all of the teachers that work there. I have peace of mind that my child is safe and sound in the caring hands of all of the teachers. He also has a BLAST there and loves all of his teachers just as I did.



You will NOT regret taking your child to Kids Count Too! From my own experience and my child's experience, this place is perfect. No wonder it was voted Best Daycare in The Colony in 2012! I can truly believe it! I absolutely LOVE Kids Count Too!!!!

Can't say enough about Kids Count too!!!! It is definitlely the best Day Care/Pre School around. After many tours and exhausting interviews of day cares around, we were lucky to find Kids Count Too.. Kids Count Too was exactly what we were looking for.



We were needing a place where my child could thrive and get prepared for kindergarten.

The academic program at Kids Count too is amaziing. My son was so ready for Kindergarten and was so confident that dropping him off that first day of school was easier than I had imagined.



What is amazing at Kids Count Too is that learning begins as early as age 2. We brought our second child here as soon as he turned 2 and are amazed at how quickly he is developing. From reciting his letters to wanting to do things for himself it is simply amazing. Thank you Kids Count Too.



As a working parent, the confidence in knowing that my children are learning and thriving while away from me, makes it easier to drop off every morning. They are happy when dropped off and hate leaving when it is time to pick up. They are so excited and want to show me everything they did that day. That gives this mommy a sense of peace, knowing that my children are being well taken care of.



Another thing that makes me feel at ease is that all of the teachers there have been there for years. There is not a high turn around and all those teachers really love what they atre doing. It shows when the children run up to them and are excited to see them.



Many , many thanks to Kids Count Too, My children are truly blessed to have you in their lives. Keep up the good work. These last three years have been the best. Looking forward. To many more years as my children won't go anywhere else. Love you guys,!!!

It looks great, but the real story is that my kid loves it! The school is awesome, they have something for everyone, reading, writing, math, performance, imagination techniques, manners, hugs, fun, fun, fun! My 3 year old can sing the "Star Spangled Banner", for goodness sake!



The performances that the kids do are all in fun. Many of the former students come back and teach. If they are not teaching, they are bringing their children to KCT.



I am writing this, after stumbling on a review, from 2009. Their words were so false, I had to set the record straight. Not sure how a 2 hour naptime was stretched to 3 hours. When my child wakes up early, he is given other things to do. The playground is used for many things, chalk, games, imagination stimulation, bubbles, relays, jump ropes, and other things that my son's teacher comes up with.



Hundreds of students have gone through KCT, ask them what they think about the school. How many of the people that you know still stop by for a visit, keep in touch, or bring their own children back to the pre-school they attended?



Kids Count Too offers the best in child development for a great price. They are set up on a monthy payment plan, but do allow people to pay weekly, if they need to. If they don't pay each week, then it probably messes up their budget for paying bills, or buying equipment for our kids. Sounds like the previous review needed to pay weekly and didn't do it... I would hate not getting my paycheck, if my boss told me they forgot to bring it. Seriously???



Those teachers are the best The Colony has to offer, so don't be fooled by a disgruntled person. Trust me, that person stands with the minorty of opinions regarding Kids Count Too. The staff at KCT works around the clock to make KCT a fun place for kids to be, while their parents are away.



So, I have said a lot, yet not enoungh about the wonderful, wonderful place that The Colony is lucky to call it's own. Kids Count Too was just voted "Best Day Care in The Colony - 2012". That just doesn't happen, if the review below were true.



Bottom line -- Kids Count Too is the best experience your child will ever have!

Do not ever judge a book by its cover! On the outside... Kids Count Too appears to be a fun-loving, colorful, exciting place to leave your child for the day. Once you get sucked in.... you learn some things that might not be so exciting afterall.



First off, the children who are there all day have physical activity time in the dance room - REQUIRED! They play some fun music and then some not so appropriate songs as well and have the kids do specific dance moves. It is 'supposed' to be fun for the kids as part of their morning activity time but I noticed many children sitting in the corner or outside of the dance room on many occasion as I dropped off my child each morning. Doesn't seem too fun to me. Thank goodness my son enjoyed dancing.



Second, I was told by one teacher that if the director had her way, she would NEVER let the kids go outside to play! And I would almost agree with her considering the ONLY place that Kids Count Too has for them to play outside is a large slab of concrete in the back with NO TOYS or things for them to play with/on.



Third, if you agree with Silent Lunches... this is the place for you! One child choked (and survived) several years back when they were talking and laughing with a fellow classmate. From that day forward, they allow no talking at lunch. They have to sit there and eat - that's it!



Next is a Big one for me. My son will be starting Kindergarten this fall and he was at the point of not really needing naps during the day... just some down time. Well Kids Count Too has a 3+ hour nap time!!!! 3 hours where kids have to lay down, be still and quiet! That is torture for some and there are NO EXCEPTIONS! My son spent half his nap time in the directo'r office or in time out. I paid them to watch my child during the day. 3 hours of it is the teacher's taking a 'break'. Ummmm, I understand that teachers need a break from kids during the day but 3 hours?!?!? Come on!



Two or three of the teachers use very loud & harsh voices with the kids. Several smell of cigarette smoke too. One is known for thumping the little ones on the head if they act up.



I believe when this school started, the director and teachers really did have hearts for kids. Now I believe that it has become just a 'business' for them. They are at the door each Friday with their hand held out for that check. If you have a sick child and cannot be there on Friday.... they call you at home about the payment. Same if you are on vacation!



My child was safe at Kids Count Too. If that is all you require, then sign up!
