I was 9 when I first started martial arts with MMAC. I was a VERY shy tomboy who didn't have many friends and no self confidence. For anyone that meets me now would never believe that to be true, especially my students.



Martial arts gave me the outlet to be myself and the instructors helped grow my confidence. 15 years later I am no longer a shy little girl, but a confident young woman that can take risks and doesn't fear the world. I attribute so much of who I am to martial arts which is why I teach.

When you walk into Murrays Martial Arts you are always greeted with a smile. You instantly feel like part of this fun living family. My name is Kim Murray Jr. and I obviously may be somewhat biased, but I would like to point out a few important points for anyone interested.



1. I studied martial arts under my father (and his instructors) for over 30 years. I won't talk about my rank or skills in martial arts, although I have accomplished much. What I want to point out is that I am currently at practicing Otolaryngologist - Head and Neck Surgeon in Miami, FL. I also run a music business and recording label on the side. I'm still incredibly fit now at the age of 35, I breakdance and still practice martial arts on an almost daily basis. I truly believe that my background / base in martial arts, taught to me by my father, is what gave me the tools to achieve and continue to push for such accomplishments in life. The discipline, work ethic, confidence, and determination to never give up on my lifetime goals and dreams ALL originated from the amazing life skills I learned while training / teaching at Murray's Martial Arts Centers directly under my father Shihan Kim Murray, Sr.



2. My father was one of the first lifetime martial arts practitioners and successful martial arts school owners in Rochester. If you have any doubt as to the tremendous influence he has had in this community, you only need and look at the fact that at least half of the other martial arts schools in the city are run by former STUDENTS of my father's schools. Why wouldn't people want to train at the "ground zero" of successful karate in Rochester, NY, where my father continues to inspire and produce both high-level martial arts as well as improve the lives of countless others through fun, quality training.



At the end of the day, the results speak for themselves. Look at myself, both my siblings, the vast number of former students achieving high levels in martial arts who went on to try to duplicate the success in their own schools, as well as the thousands and thousands of other people who I have personally assisted and witnessed dramatically improve their lives through training with my father at his schools.
