Been going here for years with my dad and they are GREAT, very honest and trustworthy. Phil does such a good job with great pricing & his wife is very sweet and helpful! She once gave me a ride because I was stuck and my car was being fixed. Phil explains everything to you and also allows you to make payments. Always great service! Highly recommend!!

Most amazing mechanic ever! Phil doesn't overcharge, and he doesn't try to get you to replace parts that don't need to be replaced. He also has great prices and explains everything--even to a woman with no understanding of cars!

Best service you will ever receive. Completely honest as compared to other mechanic business. Got some brake/rotor work done and I was charged way less than Buckys charged me for JUST brake pads. I've recommended this place to many people and they haven't been disappointed with the prices either.

What a tremendous ethical specimen. Me, my wife, and our kids broke down on I-5 between Federal Way and Fife on our way to Oregon, so we googled a shop near by and saw what incredible reviews Phil's Auto Care had. So i called them from the side of the free way. I spoke to Phil's wife Robin, what an incredibly nice lady, she said he was busy helping someone at the moment but that she could come pick us up and have our vehicle toed to the shop. Phil before we got off the phone... very knowledgeable and honest. Gave me an honest quote told me it may end up being more/less depending on what they find but that they would check with me before they did anything to it, just diagnose it 1st. She got there pretty fast considering traffic on I-5 and right when we were leaving the tow truck was pulling up to pick up my car and follow us to Phil's. While we were on our way to the shop my kids were complaining about how hungry they were, so

Robin dropped me off at the shop to speak with Phil and proceeded to take my wife and kids to get something to eat.... SHE EVEN PAID FOR IT!.... I MEAN WHO DOES THAT NOW A DAYS!!! WHAT A WONDERFUL COUPLE. THEY REALLY RUN A RESPONSIBLE AND PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS. THE WORK THEY DID WAS IMMACULATE AND THEY CLEANED EVERYTHING UP NICE AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF........ IT WAS CHEAPER THAN HE QUOTED ME, HE EVEN SAID " IT DOES'NT ALWAYS WORK OUT THAT WAY BUT THEY TRY AND STAY CLOSE TO THEIR ORIGINAL QUOTE BUT SOMETIMES IT'S TRICKY WITH UNSEEN VEHICLES TILL HE SEES IT IN THE SHOP." EVEN WITH THEM BEING BUSY THEY HAD US OUT AND ON THE ROAD IN REALLY GOOD TIME CONSIDERING ALL THEY HAD TO DO.



AFTER WE GOT BACK I DID A DOUBLE CHECK JUST TO SEE HOW CHEAP THEY WERE BEFORE I WROTE THIS BECAUSE I WAS SO HAPPY WITH THEM AND WANTED TO SEE IF ANYONE COMES CLOSE TO THEIR PRICE....AND I WAS IMPRESSED ONCE AGAIN. THEY WERE CHEAPER THAN EVERYONE ELSE I CALLED BY $80- ALMOST $200. EVEN CHEAPER THAN ERKERS IN FIFE WHO WE ALMOST WENT TO. AND WHEN I MENTIONED THAT SHOP, PHIL COMPLIMENTED THEM AND SAID WHEN HE IS TOO BUSY HE SENDS PEOPLE TO THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE REASONABLE AND DO GOOD WORK.



WHAT PERSON IN TODAY'S WORLD WOULD EVEN CONSIDER HELPING THE COMPETITION OR SPEAKING WELL OF THEM, BUT THIS OWNER PHIL HAS AN INTEGRITY ABOUT HIM YOU WONT FIND ANYWHERE ELSE.... I SIR AM GRATEFUL FOR WHAT YOU AND YOUR WIFE WENT OUT OF YOUR WAY TO DO FOR MY FAMILY, YOU AND YOUR WIFE ROBIN ARE AMAZING PEOPLE, TO A MAN THAT MEANS SOMETHING! We have been going to Phil for several years with all of our car care needs. He's always been very honest and explains anything we have questions about. He even tells you if repairs are necessary at that time and ways to save money on the repairs.



I recommend him to everyone. We wouldn't want to take our vehicles any place else.



When we were ready to purchase a new (used) car, we took it to Phil and he checked it out thoroughly before we bought it so we could make sure it was going to be a good car for us.



He's fixed radiators, alternators, brakes, starters, fuel injectors, anything you can think of on our vehicles, and he always gives a warranty on his work.



Who does that anymore?

I Googled: "auto repair electrical" in Tacoma and one of the places that came up was Phil's Auto Care Inc. I went straight there because of an emergency electrical repair needed to my truck. They were kind enough to get me in on that day on a moments notice. I had a parasitic draw(power drain) that had me stumped. The truck would not let the alternator charge the battery. My truck is responsible for making the money that feeds my family of 6 so you can imagine how important it is. Nevertheless, I needed a good quality experienced mechanic to be able to diagnose this. They had my truck fixed by that next morning. Why I would recommend them to a friend...because they did not gouge my wallet and were good at what they do. To top it all off I drove away and because I had a smaller battery in my truck that was supposed to be, and my cable had come loose on me from work that I had done on the truck just prior, I broke down on the freeway. This man(Mr. Phil) drove his personal car WITH a battery to rectify what I had caused. I called Phil's Auto Care and he came over to my truck on the side of the freeway and fixed my car in 2 minutes flat. Hands down...Phil's Auto Care is professional, courteous, and affordable.I will be a repeat customer. I am happy with my first service I received from them.

I have been going to Phil's for a few years now. I have never had even the slightest suspicion of him overcharging me. In fact, he is great at fixing the problem thoroughly without trying to sell a bunch of stuff that isn't really needed. Now I have my 79 year old mom, my kids, and a bunch of my church going there and they are all pleased. This the first time ever that I have written an online review but I felt if anyone deserves kudos, it's Phil and his wife.

I have been getting my car serviced at Phil's Auto Care for a couple of years. Whenever the car needs something more than routine service, Phil has carefully explained what was needed and why in terms I could understand. The work has been done promptly and well.



They are pretty neat people, fun to talk to and good to do business with.

The only thing I know about my vehicle is where the gas goes and where to take it when it's gonna take more than gas to keep it running. I drive a 96 Mazda B-series with 190,000 miles on it, live in Tacoma, commute to Tukwilla (and back) 5-6 days a week, and the ONLY reason it's made it this long is because of Phil and his team at Phil's Auto Care.

My first experience with them was when I thought I was going to have to replace a fuel pump (yikes), but learned that a good mechanic will find that it's simply a butterfly valve that's sticking (and it does look a little like a butterfly). He could have made a lot more money with that visit - instead he earned a customer for life. Open and honest, they are good enough at what they do that they don't have to be anything otherwise.

Phil and crew have always treated me with sincerity, kindness and respect. More importantly, they have always been able to fix whatever has been wrong with my very high mileage vehicle quickly and correctly, and within my very limited budget. The thing runs better now than it did when I first brought it in several years ago!

I'm not rich, and I don't have a mechanical bone in my body, and in a time when I need my vehicle to last much longer than the factory warantee did, I'm glad that Phil's Auto Care is there to keep me on the road. Thank you to Phil, Robin, and everyone else working magic in that garage.
