I felt very pressured into doi...

I felt very pressured into doing xrays when my dog was limping and I felt like the vet didn't listen to me. When the tech came back into the room to tell me the cost for everything she said it wasn't an option to do xrays without giving meds first. I told her that I wasn't comfortable with giving medications when there was a possibility of nothing wrong with her leg anyway. The tech got very short with me and made me feel like I had to do it "her way" IF you go there don't see Gonna, she's not friendly and seemed to be in a bad mood. No thanks!

Dental Care

Obesity is a common problem among pets, as it can be easy to over-feed a pet that knows how to beg. But being overweight is a serious problem for animals, and can cause real health problems as they get older. With proper diet and exercise, all pets should be able to meet their dietary needs and be within a healthy weight range.
Comprehensive Examination
Our staff will get a chance to talk to you and see if you are having any trouble with your pet. We will also go over diet, preventative medicine, and exercise to ensure that your pet is as healthy as possible. Then, one of our veterinarians will do a complete physical examination on your pet. It is always good to have a baseline in case your pet ever becomes ill. We also want to monitor your pet’s weight, ensuring that your pet stays a healthy weight. It is much easier to start a diet when a pet is a pound overweight instead of fifteen! Our veterinarian will also look for any potential problems. Our goal is to catch any problems before they become major ones. The sooner that we are able to catch a problem, the easier it is to treat it and the more likely that your pet will make a full recovery!

For specialty cases such as advanced orthopedic surgery, to provide your pet everything they need, Camden Pet Hospital partners with an external surgeon who has pursued extensive surgical training for years, including internships at multiple prestigious referral centers. He is also a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons since 2007.

Dr. Anna graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and a Masters of Public Health. She joined the team at Camden in 2020 and she has a commitment to patient care, client communication, and education. She loves to teach and feels that good client education serves as a foundation for an excellent standard of practice here at Camden.   Dr. Anna is active as a leader in organized veterinary medicine and veterinary education. She is a past President of the MN College of Veterinary Medicine Alumni and Friends Society, a past director on the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA) board, as well as a past executive board member on the Veterinary Hospital Association (VHA) board. She also works with the veterinary school to interview prospective students each year, and she has continued to help develop the curriculum to teach students clinical skills. During her time as a student, she was the President of the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association (SCAVMA). She also organized and participated in many international and domestic veterinary service trips in places like rural Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Native American reservations in the Midwest and South West. During these trips Dr. Anna has helped provide veterinary care such as spaying, neutering, giving vaccinations and mending wounds for pets and livestock that would not receive care otherwise. Dr. Anna is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association, American Academy of Veterinary Nutrition and the American Veterinary Dental Society.

Laboratory Services
Camden Pet Hospital is pleased to have a laboratory in our hospital. We are very proud of our laboratory. We are able to perform many diagnostic tests quickly and efficiently in it. We can do many simple tests but are also able to offer some more complex ones, too! We are able to run heartworm tests, leukemia and FIV tests, and full blood work for those who are interested in it. There are also many other tests we offer our patients.

Microchipping
Every year, thousands and thousands of pets go missing. Not knowing where your pet is or how to bring them back can be a helpless, hopeless feeling. It’s a tragedy that happens all too often. But there is a simple, safe, and effective way to ensure your pet’s safety and retrieval should they ever become lost. Microchipping is a standard procedure that implants a tiny chip underneath your pet’s fur. It is a painless and relatively fast procedure, and is completely safe. This microchip is registered with your pet’s vital information, and can be scanned by any veterinarian or animal shelter so that they can return your pet directly to you.

Small Animal Vet
Judy has been on staff at Camden Pet Hospital since January 2007. She graduated from The University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988 and has worked as a small animal veterinarian since then. She enjoys the interaction between herself, clients, and their pets, listening and learning about each pet she sees in order to help people and their pets enjoy long, healthy, and happy relationships. Dr. Lapham has two daughters who, with the help of her husband, keep her life fully occupied outside of veterinary medicine. Any spare time is spent reading, seeing movies, visiting with friends, and traveling. Besides her human family, she shares her home with two cats, three dogs (a collie, a cockapoo and a Maltese mix), two guinea pigs, and lots of fur.
