Overall

I am a recently widowed woman who needed to buy my first car alone without my husband. I fell in love with this adorable little BMW 128i convertible and took it for a test drive. I ended up coming back the next day and making them an offer on it. It had a big scratch on the trunk a small scratch/ding on the front tire well and the little brake light strip on the rear was cracked. But it was a 2011 not new and had really low miles. We haggled a bit and I ended up bringing them a check the next day for the full price we had agreed upon. They were great helping me get the car home, as I couldn't drive them both and had no one else to help me. The service engine light was on so they had me bring it back for an oil change. The second day I had it, the top had issues and could not be opened or closed so they advised me to take it into BMW for repairs since it was still under factory warranty. The brake light strip had also broken off while I was driving so I showed them this also. I had pointed it out when I originally did my test drive. So they were aware of that. I took the car into the dealer and was told that the convertible top repair was not covered by the warranty and it was not something that had recently been damaged; as they told me at Sacramento European, and that it would cost me $1900 to repair in order to be able to use the top again. They also fixed the brake light strip; which was $367, again, not covered. I called Sacramento European up and told them about the damages and the costs and asked them to pay for the brake light strip since in was broken when I bought it. And also asked about perhaps splitting the cost of the repair to the top since it had obviously been damaged already. But I really didn't expect them to help on that. I did think they should have paid for the strip though. Of course the service man I spoke to became very rude when I asked them to pay for the strip. He said he would have to speak to the salesmen but never called me back. So the "great" deal I got on my new car actually cost me $2279.68 more than what I paid cash for in the beginning. I am really disappointed that they wouldn't even discuss paying for that strip since it was broken when I bought it and they were well aware of that. It would have been nice if they had paid for that! I can understand them not claiming any knowledge or responsibility for the top, but the strip? What started as a pleasant experience turned into another BAD used car salesmen experience! They also told me the car came with a lo-jack but BMW said it wasn't on the car. I am very disappointed with there "after" service!!! I paid $25,000 cash for this car and I really feel they should have paid for that strip or at the very least had the curtsey to call me back and discuss it with me. I guess paying cash for something doesn't count for anything any more! And neither does good faith and customer service! I know that my husband would have had them pay for that strip, so I also feel taken advantage of.......

VERY POOR SERVICE!!!
