B Star Nails

I've lived in NWA for almost 5 years. I'm from Dallas and had acrylic nails for 20 years. I'm picky picky picky about, well lets face it, I'm picky about Everything! I have an eye for detail, and I am clear about what I want. Na is my nail technician. Na takes the time to do my nails the way I want them done. I now do the dipping powder, but when I decided to take the acrylic off my nails for good I was going to another nail salon at the time. My nails were so weak and damaged. The tech who was doing my nails at that time used a drill to take the dipping power off my nails. He insisted this was the best way. I left him and went through at least two more nail salons before finding B Star Nails again. I used to think B Star was too far out of my way to get to. I don't even care about distance anymore because Na nurtured my nails to healthy again. Na and Danny are very accommodating, too. Na has come in early and stayed late for me. I don't want to encourage people to request that, but my Mom was ill in Dallas and Na worked around my flights to and from Dallas. Also, my husband is in the medical field so we are hyper sensitive to sterilization. MANY of the nail shops do not sanitize their tools well at all. B Star is the exception!

REVIEW BY KIM CARTER, PART 3: Note: On my 8/24 visit, I tipped TWENTY ($10 for a full set & $10 for a pedi) & on my 9/20 visit I tipped FIVE for my fill. I tip generously even when the service doesn't warrant it (I understand people have bad days sometimes) but I've never experienced such entitled arrogance & abuse! They must be rolling in the dough to think they can insult customers like that. Oh wait, maybe it's the deceptive pricing on their online booking site? Or maybe it's the bait&switch upcharge you don't see coming for a more-expensive-product-you-did-not-agree-to! (If you go, be sure to compare the online booking price to what he actually charges you.) -- Anyway, whatever this salon does to make its money it won't be getting any more of mine! And Dan certainly doesn't need it because he told me loud & clear! THE END (Sorry this is so long).

REVIEW BY KIM CARTER, PART 2: Then I asked him why he charged me $33 for my 9/20 fill, when I booked online for a "$18 regular fill" & he said he used a higher product called Solar (?) instead. I didnt book/ask for that! I explained I didn't want to look for another salon but his prices were too high to be treated so badly. Then he says loud so everyone could hear "I DON'T CARE BECAUSE I GOT MORE CUSTOMERS AND I DON'T NEED YOU!" So, as I stood up to leave (with my newly-naked nail) I said "It's obvious you don't care & you're going to see that reflected in my review." CONTINUED....

REVIEW BY KIM CARTER, PART 1: I first went to BSTAR on 8/24 & Dan the owner was my nail tech (I booked online for a pedicure & full set). I asked him to do my nails thick so they'll not break (I've had my nails done this way for 20+ yrs just fine). Ten days later 9/3 my left thumb nail broke & I had to crazy glue it. -- Then I go again 9/20 for a "fill" & just 8 days later, 9/28 another nail broke. So, I go online & book a $5 nail repair for 9/29. -- So, on 9/29 I told him I wanted my nail much thicker like I previously asked & explained how I've only been to him twice & each time a nail broke. He began arguing that his products can't be used how I want & I shouldn't be so rough with my nails. I told him I'm VERY careful & I've never had breakages like this because my past nail techs did my nails thick like I ask. I told him I wasn't asking for a miracle nor being unreasonable to want thick nails & his prices were too high to result in nails continuing to break. CONTINUED....
