Ginza Japanese Restaurant

Don’t bother with the 1 star rating because they wrote nothing that had to did with this restaurant lol. Ginza is awesome. Great food. Great people. No sewage smell. Worth every cent.

First, I will start with a minor thing; There is a slight smell of sewage in the restaurant. I smelled it as soon as I walked through the door. And it was stronger at the back of the restaurant when I went to the restroom. It makes me wonder if the previous lessee had problems with the bathroom plumbing. It is not a very strong smell. But it is not something I cared to experience right before eating raw seafood.

Here is what really bothered my wife and me. It is kind of long, but I want you to have the full story so it makes sense.

My wife and I ate at Sushi Tomi for around a year and a half after trying most of the other restaurants that serve sushi in PTC. Once we found Sushi Tomi, we never went back to any other places because we found what we considered was the best. This was was mainly due to the service we received from the servers (Mari and Suya). And even more important, the chef (Alvin) made the absolute best sashimi, nigiri, and sushi we have eaten.

We went there enough that we built a relationship with them. We even had each others cell phone numbers and would be notified if something special was going on at Sushi Tomi. We appreciated the special attention we received. And as a result, we were always very generous with our tips. We are happy to give extra for that level of service.

One night we went there to eat and were told by Alvin and Suya that they were leaving to start another place. We were sad, but were assured that we would be notified with details of the new restaurant when they were close to opening it. I wondered if they had any kind of clause with the owners of Sushi Tomi to not take customers away (I am sure we were not the only regulars they told about starting a new place). But after hearing how the owners were treating them, I didn't think much more about it.

Tonight, we were treated worse than strangers; We were treated like people that somehow offended them.

We never received any help and eventually left.
