If anyone is interested in martial arts training look no further! The staff is A-1. the atmosphere here is respectful & friendly. One must see the kids in class-it will bring a smile to you. Really upsetting experience. We adopted our profoundly deaf, special needs child less than a year ago. He went to a karate class with a friend here and enjoyed it, so they quickly signed us up for a 6 month contract. During our trial period the sensei was away and the classes were more running around and learning some basic moves. When he came back after we'd signed up for the contract things changed to long lectures and complex patterns that my child was physically and mentally unable to participate in. After repeated attempts to cancel the classes after my son ended up in tears on several occasions, we were given a spiel about how we weren't teaching our son the respect and discipline of making a commitment to an activity. My wife was even talked to about "sticking with a commitment" and responsibility. You can imagine how incredibly insulting this is after our 2 year ordeal of persistence, commitment, dedication and devotion to bringing home our child home. This facility is such small apples in the field of what commitment looks like, and to be compared to families who "get busy and flake out" was infuriating. We were instructed that we needed to get documentation for my child's intellectual disabilities from his doctors and psychologist and Guiseppe told her that upon receipt of the documents we would be responsible for paying for the next 30 days of billing period. He even told us that they have another deaf student who does just fine... Umm... was she adopted 10 months ago from an impoverished institution in a third would country with no access to language or stimulation for the first 9 years of her life?? I'm sure this is a fantastic studio if your child doesn't have any physical or learning disabilities, but as my wife told Guiseppe, we "wish they were about to think more with their hearts and not with their billing department." Unbelievable.
