Stonebriar Veterinary Centre is a state of the art facility located on the northeast corner of Legacy Drive and Town & Country Blvd. (one block north of highway 121) in Frisco, Texas. We enjoy developing close relationships with our clients and patients. We strive to give personal attention and friendly service along with advanced medical care. We built this clinic with the goal of creating a place where our clients and patients would be relaxed and comfortable. We know it can be stressful when your pets are ill or just scared about getting a check up.

Preventive Care

Dental Care
Rinsing of the mouth completely with an antibacterial solution followed by a complete oral exam. In addition to looking at all the surfaces of the teeth this identifies any problems of the throat, pharynx, hard and soft palates, tongue, and gingival tissue.
Vaccination
Annual examinations geared toward preventing illness and identifying any undetected problems. In addition to a comprehensive exam these may include vaccinations, blood screening, dietary counseling, dental home care recommendations, heartworm and flea preventatives.

I was lucky to have grown up surrounded by a variety of farm and companion animals. It gave me joy and pride to help care for them and laid the foundation for the rest of my life’s work. Having practiced for several years in a variety of clinics doing relief work, I gained a unique perspective to assist me in building my dream – a practice focused on exceptional medical care, patient comfort and client service. Pain Management
Laser Therapy is proven to bio-stimulate tissue repair and growth. The Laser accelerates wound healing, and decreases inflammation, pain, as well as scar tissue formation. When it comes to pain management, Class IV Lasers are a side effect free and non-addictive treatment that provide dramatic results.

There are many different diseases or conditions that prescription diets are designed to prevent or treat. These include: obesity, heart disease, urinary tract disease, dental disease, diabetes, gastrointestinal disease and food allergies.
Upper Respiratory Illness Treatment
Radiographs (x-rays) are helpful to veterinarians in diagnosing and managing a number of diseases including: heart disease, bone disease, dental disease, abdominal problems, respiratory disease, kidney/bladder stones and more.All radiographs (x-rays) are viewed by our veterinarians as soon as they are processed and then reviewed with each client in the exam room. This allows you to have a better understanding of your pet’s medical problem.

Bacterial and Viral Infection Treatment
Once gum disease (gingivitis) has occurred a dental cleaning no longer becomes a preventative measure but is instead a treatment for a bacterial infection. The best time to have your pet’s teeth cleaned is before gums become red or inflamed. This will give your pet the best result and prevent gum and periodontal disease from occurring. If gum disease is present we are fighting an uphill battle to control this bacterial infection. If adequate home care cannot be instituted then it may take repeated cleanings in succession to stop the progression of this disease or teeth will eventually be lost.

We minimize risk and complications from surgery by monitoring temperature, ECG, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation and blood pressure. We utilize 3 electronic monitoring machines so all our patients are monitored constantly while under anesthesia. In addition to electronic monitoring your pet’s nurse will be with the doctor throughout each procedure and monitor your pet through the entire procedure. Warm water heating blankets are also used for each patient to prevent hypothermia during surgery and to speed recovery time. To reduce possible infection, our doctors adhere to a strict sterile protocol. This includes, wearing a cap, surgical mask, sterile gown and sterile gloves for each procedure. We sterilize all surgical equipment onsite. After the procedure is complete, a nurse will be with your pet until they are awake and comfortable. For small or young animals a specialized animal incubator is used to keep them warm and quiet during their immediate recovery time.
Kidney Disease Treatment
We counsel pet owners on nutrition for their pets and offer prescription foods from Iams, Royal Canin, Purina and Hill’s Science Diet. Some dogs and cats may need these special diets for a brief period and others benefit from life long dietary therapy. These foods are specifically formulated for specific medical problems; obesity, diabetes, bladder stones, kidney disease, liver disease, pancreatitis and foods specially formulated for dietary sensitivities and allergies.
Periodontal Disease Treatment
Dogs and cats both suffer from plaque and tartar build up which leads to gingivitis and periodontal disease. The periodontal disease is what causes tooth loss. We can prevent these from occurring in your pet with regular oral exams and cleanings as well as ongoing home care.

All of our veterinarians are trained to perform soft tissue surgeries including: spays, neuters, tumor removals, bladder surgery, abdominal surgery, intestinal surgery, eye surgery, laceration repairs and many more.

Laser Surgery
Declawing
We routinely perform ovariohysterectomies (spays), castrations (neuters), declawing for cats, abdominal surgeries including foreign body removal, tumor removals, cystotomies (bladder stone removal) and general soft tissue surgery. We use the safest and newest anesthetics available including sevoflurane gas anesthesia.
Spaying and Neutering
Include examinations, behavioral counseling, vaccinations, and parasite screenings to help your pet get off to a great start! We will also discuss microchipping, spaying/neutering, dental care, house training, and other basic obedience.

Laboratory Services
For our critically ill or emergency patients we can also perform a range of blood testing services in our hospital. These include complete blood counts, chemistry panels, urinalyses, electrocardiograms (EKG), cytology of skin lesions and ear infections, parasite screening of the skin or stool, and heartworm testing. An in-house laboratory provides instant results while the client is waiting! This allows us to address critical patients immediately without having to send tests to an outside lab.
X-Ray
We offer high quality digital radiography in our clinic which provides fast and detailed xray images of your pet. These also provide the additional benefit of being easily transferred to specialists and emergency clinics if needed.
Dental Radiology
In addition to a physical exam and other diagnostics, your pet may need to have radiographs (x-rays) to help diagnose their medical problem. Stonebriar Veterinary Centre has onsite x-ray capabilities including dental x-rays.
Microchipping
Frisco Humane Society is a non-profit 501(c)3, all volunteer organization committed to the welfare of homeless animals in Frisco and the DFW metroplex. We do not have a shelter. All of the animals we rescue are cared for in volunteer foster homes until they can be placed in permanent homes. FHS provides all necessary medical care for each animal including vaccinations, microchipping (dogs and cats), deworming, heartworm test and treatment if necessary, feline leukemia test, spay or neuter before adoption.
