Dr Susan D Delaney MD,MS

I have been seeing Dr. Delaney for about 9 months and couldn't be more pleased with her expertise. I believe she knows what she is talking about as well as NEVER has forced me to take any medication. Her professionalism is nothing like that of what the previous reviewer wrote. She has never ever and I don't believe she would use words noted in prior review to any of her clients. She isn't one to put someone down or tell them they have no chance in this world. She is the most positive doctor I have seen ever. She doesn't just proscribe medication, she actually talk and allows a full hour session to occur before she dishes out prescriptions. I have searched for a doctor like her, that cares and isn't just there to fill your prescriptions. Last, I would recommend Susan Delaney to anyone.

I began seeing Dr. Delaney 6 years ago. I am a recovering alcoholic and had been diagnosed with depression years earlier. I had symptoms of OCD for years also, and it had worsened over time becoming almost unbearable. When I came to Dr. Delaney, my OCD had severely affected my ability to work as well as my personal life and I was quasi-suicidal from the overwhelming affect it had on my life. She diagnosed me and prescribed a set of medications. I noticed the medications starting to work almost immediately. The relief was monumental. I have been on the same medications for 6 years and they are still working. Dr. Delaney's practice is extremely professional, comprehensive and, quite simply, best in class.

Best psychiatrist in Plano. She runs on time, if not early, consistently. If you leave her a voicemail with concerns, she will address them as soon as possible. While medication is used, she prescribes the minimum so that you aren't "zombied" out, and only after other behavioral techniques are exhausted. If you are looking for an empathetic, thoughtful psychiatrist who will listen and treat you, she is the one for you.

I have struggled with depression all my life but only sought treatment in my late twenties. I've seen a number of doctors since then, but with no real success or comfort. At my lowest, I reached out to Dr. Delaney about 2 years ago and she has been amazing. She has been treating my depression, anxiety and panic attacks successfully, with great results after only a few weeks of medication. She monitors my progress, listens intently to my concerns, answers my questions and helps me to see that it is okay to seek and get help for this illness. I work as an executive in a very fast paced, high tech industry, with Dr. Delaney's help I am happier and more able to cope than ever before. I remember where I was and exactly what I was doing when I realized that it was either my life or get help. I decided to go to the internet to see who I thought might be able to help, when I saw Dr. Delaney's website. Something there appealed to me, even the website seemed peaceful. I decided to give her a shot, and I'm very glad I did. I feel like God sent me straight to her.

I knew about Dr Delaney for a long time but never thought I needed a psychiatrist until last year. I approached her about therapy, and after the first visit we concluded that she would be a good therapist for me. I have gained so much insight about myself and grown emotionally a great deal as a result of our sessions.



I like her style. It might not work for everyone (I saw one negative review here) but it sure works for me. She is an unbelievably good listener and she actually remembers what you told her in previous visits. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of medications, but in my case, she did not prescribe any, rather guiding me to healing "from within".



Dr Delaney is one of the best things that ever happened to me. I absolutely recommend her.

Dr. Delaney is a wonderful doctor who has assisted me in achieving mental stability. Rather than prescribe me medication that doesn't work (and sit on the sidelines as I lost a dangerous amount of weight as a result of the meds, like my previous doctor), she immediately put me on the right track and helped me deal with the actual issues in my life. My depression had driven me in the past to desperation, but Dr. Delaney has guided me towards health and optimism about the future through her faith-based and very down-to-earth style. As for friends who have confided in me about their problems, I have given them her name and told them not to hesitate in calling her.

It has been my experience with Dr. Delaney that she is a well-rounded and responsible pyschiatrist. She is always truthful and forthcoming with her opinions, while being open to your concerns. Dr. Delaney made me BELIEVE that I could recover. Believing in yourself and your doctor is the first step toward achieving mental health.

As a veteran behavioral health provider, I am well aware of the proverb, “Physician heal thyself.” Still, I know that there are times when I (as well as other family members) require additional emotional support from a well-qualified professional.

For almost a decade, Dr. Delaney has intermittently (as the situation warranted) helped my family and me regain solid emotional footing with her high quality individual and family therapy sessions. My young (and sometimes surly) adult son, whom had previously vowed that he would “never” seek counseling, voluntarily sought guidance from Dr. Delaney after seeing how well the counseling sessions worked for me. Through his experience with Dr. Delaney, he was diagnosed and successfully treated for social anxiety disorder and depression. His gray cloud is now lifted, and he is no longer in a perpetual state of sullenness. With Dr. Delaney’s support, my son is now confidently and successfully navigating the winding road towards full adulthood. For that, I will always be grateful, and extremely appreciative. worst visit ever-told this so called doctor that i had social anxiety.never got to speak, she just asked questions and then interrupted frequently when i tried to talk.after 30 mins of her yes/no questions which had nothing to do w the purpose of my visit, she excused me saying "we didnt click". i have never heard of such nonsense in my entire life. Not "clicking" with someone should be stated if youre on a bad date.she didnt help me @all and sent me out the door in the middle of the session-i was confused and overwhelmed at her rudeness.i didnt know a psychiatrist could treat someone like that who simply went in for help. i was not given a formal diagnosis, no recommendations, just wasted 45 mins of my time answering personal questions and told to leave as i sat there crying. Very heartless, and I wonder if she is paying for the compliments on this site. Only thing I can think of is perhaps she doesnt take new clients that are not white, since she knew why i was coming in to an office visit and treated me so poorly when i showed up.

Wonderful psychiatrist. Dr Delaney has helped me thru a very difficult time. Compassionate, inspirational, honest, encouraging. She has my greatest respect.
