Da Kine Cafe

I stumbled upon this new little cafe because it is in the same nondescript strip mall as my dry cleaner (the excellent Carriage Cleaners). It's scrupulously clean and orderly. The decor is modern and plain -- some generic travel-type posters and a stylishly paint job. The menu is simple -- sandwiches, espresso, smoothies, a few muffins in a bakery case. The sandwiches are more or less typical of Asian-style cafes with your choice of bagels, croissants, breads.



I decided to try the panini (Italian-style sandwich, grilled in a press), and ordered a bacon panini, to go. It was very good. A lot of bacon and cheese, fresh tomato, and mustard. Properly chewy and toasted crisp, with fresh ingredients. Price was about right, $6.
