DON'T RECOMMEND. From personal experience, this place was a nightmare. My storage unit and 4 others were broken into. Owners of storage took no responsibility whatsoever. Whoever broke into storage units did so without fear of being caught and took days to carry out the theft. No lighting at night; absolutely no cameras on premises; fence in terrible condition that anybody can climb in; condition of storage id numbers in horrible condition; and during numerous trips to units, I never saw staff checking premises. You enter gated premises with your own code but gate remains open long enough after you enter or leave that any other vehicle can enter with no problem. And I doubt other storage tenants there were warned by staff that some units had been broken into. So I strongly do NOT recommend. Staff is nice and friendly but that didn't keep thieves out. Beware!!!

We recently rented a storage unit from Rawson at their El Paseo Self Storage location. It was decently priced for their 10x10 unit, as we were storing our whole house. We only needed the unit for one month. After renting a house, we began moving our items out of the storage unit. We discovered most of the items in the storage unit had been seriously damaged by water. My boyfriend's military uniform is completely ruined, a keepsake of my mother's (who recently passed away) has rusted, our bed frame was rusted, and many boxes were completely saturated with water and had mildewed. This is only to name a few of the damaged items. We went to the South Main Storage office to inform them of the situation. The manager told us that they did not even offer insurance at that location and that she was sorry. She then told us we could visit her supervisor at Rawson Self Storage on N. Solano. I told the lady at the front desk what had happened, and she informed me I would receive a phone call from the manager (who was out at the time). A woman did call me back, but informed me it was my responsibility to have bought the insurance for the unit. Keep in mind I had been told previously that they did not offer insurance at that location! She said it was people like me who informed them of damage and otherwise they would have no way of knowing that their units were damaged like that. I feel I should not be responsible for their neglect!!! Some of these items in our unit were irreplaceable keepsakes, and all they could do was tell me they were sorry...
