Family Owned & the Best

I have been using Pooch Pad since 2006. We have used them during all times of the year. I don't know what the previous poster is talking about. They have signs posted everywhere about fleas & ticks and not to bring your pet without it being on a flea and tick preventative. I have NEVER brought my two dogs home from there with ANY problems. The place is clean. The new staff is great. My dogs are always happy to be there. When you check your dog in, they are very thorough in going over everything about our dogs and the instructions for their care. (One of my dogs takes several medications). They wouldn't have such a successful business if they weren't doing a good job. I highly recommend Pooch Pad.

USED to go here

I have been using pooch pad for boarding and grooming for about 10 years, and have been very happy until recently. In June, we left our dog for about a week, came back, took her home, and all was well. WE thought. Two weeks later, we noticed a couple of ticks in our house and were curious as to where they came from. Another week passed and we were infested. Checked the dog, and pulled over 50 ticks off. We had ticks crawling up the walls, curtains, our kids, and continuously on the dog-despite treating her with tick medication. We fought the ticks with professional pest control in our house, foggers, and continuously washing all bedding. We became paranoid in our own house. So, that was cleared up-we thought-in September. Fast forward to a few days ago when we spotted ANOTHER infestation of ticks in the house. Found 3 on my toddler, many in our bedroom, and have picked about forty off of the dog so far. 1 week at pooch pad has cost us hundreds of dollars and counting. Went to the vet and was told that she had seen three other dogs that same week that were infested from pooch pad-which confirmed our suspicions that that's where our dog acquired them. I don't blame an infestation at pooch pad on them, but I do blame them for not infoing us about it upon picking up our dog-thus letting us bring hundreds of ticks into our household. Sorry to say we will never go back. Can't afford to!!

It's always unfortunate for us...

It's always unfortunate for us to hear that anyone has left with a problem or issue. We have seen more ticks this year than in any of our 18 year history combined. This is NOT just in Pearland. This is a statewide problem!! Nearly every news channel has done a segment on this years' outbreak of ticks and how last year's drought had a huge impact on this barrage. As you know, ticks can hide in obscure places and it can be difficult to check every inch of every dog that arrives here sometimes. There are people that bring their dogs with ticks and fleas and are not honest about it; and by the time we catch it, the dog's parents have left. We have doubled our usual regimen and are treating all areas as often as we can safely. Each Run/Kennel is stripped of laundry, vaccumed, scrubbed from top to bottom and sprayed with insecticide after each pet. Our yards and common areas are actually treated every other week as apposed to once a month. It is our suggestion, as always, you keep your dog on a flea and tick prevenative. Treat your homes and yards as recommended safely as well. (Flea and tick collars bought OTC do NOT work). ANY pet that comes in with ticks or fleas is immediately given a flea and tick bath and quarantined from the other guests. "Repeat Offenders" are definately closely inspected when they arrive! Our WHOLE LIFE is based on the care, love, and the health and safety of all of our four-legged guests; and we work diligently to continue the high standards needed to do this. Please rest assured that we have a great staff that go above and beyond what is necessary to ensure that your pet is protected from pests and parasites. Thank you.

Caring people

I have brought my dogs here many times for a couple of years. My dogs always come home happy and are excited when we drive in the gate at the kennel. You could not take care of the dogs like they do without caring so much. My flight was late getting into Hobby and the manager stayed late for me to get my babies so I didn't have to make a special trip back over there the next day and was very kind. I will continue to recommend your place. Thanks

I boarded my dog here for 12 days and she came back infested with ticks. When we dropped her off she was tick-free and had just gotten her monthly flea/tick prevention. We have found at least seven ticks on her since she's been home.

I have taken my dog there seve...

I have taken my dog there several times. The second to the last time they brought the wrong dog out and didn't have any of his personal belongings when we picked him up. The last time I picked him up when I got home I noticed his face was all swollen and his eyes were beet red and he was itching all over his body. I called the owner and she just said well I am on my way of out town but take him to a vet and if it's our fault I will cover it. Well I gave him some bendaryl, took him for a oatmeal bath and after a few days he was better. Never got a call back to see how he was. I would not take my worst enemy to this place.

Don't waste your time calling ...

Don't waste your time calling to schedule an appointment here, they'll just call you 30 minutes before you're supposed to drop your pet off, beat around the bush while trying to make up excuses about having to bathe other boarders from the weekend, and tell you that your animal will wait all day for a scheduled grooming.

The worst part about it all was that they never even apologized... even after I said that I took off work and made special arrangements to accommodate this appointment !!! The only thing they said was that they were going to talk to the person who made the appointment and that I "had to do what I had to do" by finding some other place to have my animal groomed.

What kind of customer service is that ?!?!?

THANKS POOCH PAD... I'LL NEVER RECOMMEND YOUR SERVICES TO ANYONE !!!

Amazing

Ok Guys. I know it's a little late but I still just had to put my input in about Pooch Pad. We boarded our two labs and our cocker spaniel over the holidays for 3 weeks. It was the second time I used them but the first time for so long. Let me start off by saying the staff is wonderful. Brad and Matt really care about the animals and to be the owners of the place and be there all the time says alot about their company. I really expected to get my dogs back either a little under weight or overwieght but they came back in great health and great shape. Not to say I don't trust them but we were gone a long time. They knew how worried I was about my babies but they called me periodically to let me know how they were doing. I was so surprised!!! When I came to pick them up I was surprised to see Allie (My cocker) to be doing so well. She is my problem child. I even ran out of medication for her and they drove to our vet to refill it for me. I do have high expectations for kennels since they are taking care of my babies and of all the places we have been I can say that I will be using you guys until they all pass. Thank you so much for your dedication to the pets. It is greatly appreciated.

Excellent Care for Your Pooch!

We just found Pooch Pad earlier this year. We have two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and were looking for a place to board them. Our neighbor had used Pooch Pad and recommended them to us. We’ve boarded the dogs there twice since then and have been extremely pleased. The last time we boarded them, one of the dogs was recovering from an injury (large gash on back) and required some special care. The staff at Pooch Pad were very understanding and accommodating – they even wrapped the doggie door in vet wrap to make sure that he didn’t aggravate the wound.

We’re very attached to our dogs and are very picky about where we board them. We’ll definitely be going back to Pooch Pad the next time we need a kennel.

The only place to take your pooch

I cannot even begin to say enough about Pooch Pad Country Kennel. I always check out a kennel prior to boarding my dog with them. Pooch Pad welcomes visitors to observe their premises and doesn't hide or hold anything back. It is a family run business and they live on premise. Matt Scardino does an excellent job running the Pooch Pad. All the employees are friendly and really care about your animal. I know my dog loves to visit Pooch Pad and play with (as we affectionately call him) "Unkie Matt." They really go above and beyond ANY kennel I have ever used in the past. I do not hesitate in recommending them everyone.

Home away from home!

Pooch Pad is a lifesaver. As I travel frequently, my dogs stay at Pooch Pad with the peace of mind that they are safe and loved. The staff are always friendly and get to know your pet by name. They are also reasonable and flexible to the customers' needs, which shows the caring attitude that characterizes this unique place. The kennels are spacious and give pets the room they need to feel comfortable. I wholeheartly recommend Pooch Pad for boarding and grooming your pets!

The Best Kennel In Town

The Pooch Pad is absolutely the best place to take your pet when you need to leave town. The facilities are fantastic and the care and attention they give the pets exceeds expectations. I am very particular about where I leave my dogs and now I won't go anywhere else but here. A friend of mine uses the grooming service and won't take their pets anywhere else either. Best of all this is a family run business so there is constant care and attention.

Awesome kennel!

Gracie and Sam have been weekly boarders at this kennel for almost a year. My job requires that I travel almost weekly. I absolutely do not worry about my dogs when they are at the Pooch Pad. When I drop them off, they jump out of my car and run to the owners to get a belly rub or ear scratch, so I know they are happy to be there! The owners are kind, dog loving people, and take excellent care of my dogs. They have large yards for play and exercise, as well as really large kennels/runs. We are extremely fortunate to the Pooch Pad in Pearland to care for for our puppies!

Chloe's Camp

We travel alot. At least 2 times a month. We never worry with chloe at this "Camp". I have the blankie ready and my purse on my shoulder before I drive in the gate because Chloe cannot wait to get out of the car and get into the kennel. Lou is Chloe's 2nd Mom. Very caring people and the groomer is excellent. I really cannot say enough good things about Pooch Pad. They take the worry out of leaving your babies. brenda & ray (Chloe's mom and dad).

MoJo's Favorite Place!!!

The Pooch Pad owners and staff are exceptional individuals who truly care about animals. They recognize how we humans are about our pets and live up to the trust we place in them. As a long term customer (and a nurse) I know that Pooch Pad is a caring environment. They keep you posted if there are issues. When you pick up your pet; they know how the stay went. I trust them, believe in their integrity and interest in delivering a quality stay and grooming process at a fair price.

my cat only gets the best

Pooch Pad Kennel has cared for my precious cat a few times recently. It gives me piece of mind knowing that my cat will have the best care around when I have to leave town. I love how large the cat cages are. I didn't feel guilty leaving him there. He had plenty of room to move around.
