Swedish Massage
Deep Tissue Massage
Yvonne has been performing massage therapy since 1999; initially in a spa setting, but she quickly discovered how impactful appropriate therapeutic work could be. After helping some injured family members, she actively transitioned into Deep Tissue, Trigger Point and Lymphatic Massage. With 20 years if experience, she has a veritable cornucopia of integrative techniques. Yvonne moved back to Austin from Colorado in March 2020 to be close to her family. She is so excited to find Whole Family Chiropractors, where she can work with the doctors and other therapists to augment healing.
Medical Massage
Chiropractic treatment may also include one or more of several physiotherapeutic modalities. The doctor will likely prescribe specific medical massage therapy, may induce passive or active ranges of motion using techniques of flexion distraction on a motorized table, manual and/or mechanical traction, heat infrared, diathermy or ultrasound, cryotherapy, TENS, micro-current, hydrotherapy, Cold Laser and others. When appropriate, topical pain analgesic supplements may be given to facilitate use of a chosen technique.

Chiropractic Adjustments
A typical treatment will usually consist of a chiropractic adjustment, intersegmental traction, therapeutic exercise and possibly electrical stimulation. During the adjustment, you may feel or hear popping, which is caused by the release of pressurized nitrogen gas being released from synovial joints not bones cracking! Our chiropractors are trained to gently release this pressure in a variety of ways. There is no one technique that is best for everyone, so each treatment plan is tailored to an individual’s condition and preferences.
Spinal Adjustments
At Whole Family Chiropractors, we have seen how this approach offers a deeper tissue solution for fibrous adhesions and scar tissue than traditional massage can provide. By providing Graston Technique®, when appropriate, in addition to spinal adjustments, our patients are experiencing better and faster results than most other physical modalities offer.
Intersegmental Traction
You may also receive one or more physiotherapeutic modalities: ergonomic training, home exercise and stretching routines, range of motion techniques and more. The modalities we use include heat, electrical stimulation, clinical manual therapy (specific massage therapy techniques), intersegmental traction, inversion, taping, splint management and education. Often, we will email exercises to you for your specific condition. When appropriate, topical pain analgesic patches or instructions may be given to facilitate the use of a chosen technique.

There are many avenues for specialized treatment with athletes and/or rehabilitation that work hand-in-hand with the chiropractic care you receive at Whole Family Chiropractors. These options, such as clinical manual therapy or massage therapy and bodywork, may help your adjustments be more effective and longer-lasting. It’s the specific expertise and experience that the doctors have though that make the real difference. Dr Fisher has a wealth of overall ergonomic sports knowledge and expertise.
Therapeutic Exercise
Pediatric Chiropractic
Pediatricians and parents send kids in when they have torticollis, ear infections, digestive issues, ADHD and other seemingly non-chiropractic issues. While treating these conditions is not directly in our scope of practice, we are simply looking for abnormal function and adjusting (very lightly and not how we do with adults) affected segments. Flexion Distraction Therapy
Dr. Fisher may select one or more of several different manipulation techniques including Diversified, Chiropractic BioPhysics®, Flexion-Distraction, Activator®, Neuromechanical Impulse, Drop Table, OTZ, and/or Sacro Occipital Technique®. All are designed to relieve pain, restore function, promote biomechanical optimization, establish stabilization and encourage normalized function.

Commonly called PIP for short, personal injury protection insurance protects you against—you guessed it— personal injury. If you get in an accident, no matter who is at fault, PIP will cover the costs of your medical bills, as well as those of your passengers up to the limits of your policy coverage.

Acupressure
Finding herself at a career crossroads, a friend who knew Anna’s propensity to sense tension in a person’s body and want to do something to alleviate that tension, suggested she attend massage school. Since 1992 she has been relieving aches and pains and facilitating healing ever since. Her continuing education includes, but is not limited to: pre-natal massage, cranial sacral therapy, acupressure, reflexology and neuromuscular therapy. She has worked with some of the best chiropractors in clinical settings as well as maintaining a thriving private practice with many clients she has seen for over 12 years.
