Totem Lake Heights

While living at Totem Lake Heights was not to bad, our move out experience was a horrible one. Before our move out I asked the maintenance guy to take a look at our place and let me know what he thought should be done (our place had been well kept). He said that the carpets looked good and not to do anything with them because they were replacing them regardless- as well as the linoleum, both were being updated. So I vacuumed them and called it good. Upon move out we received 100 of our 300 refundable deposit back (we originally paid a 600 deposit and only 300 was refundable). Kristy's (Manager) reason for the small refund was that the carpets and linoleum had to be replaced. She said that there were small stains on the carpet that could not be removed as well as on the linoleum. I argued the fact that they were going to replace them anyways, but Kristy was not willing to discuss it. Before talking to Kristy, I tried reaching the property manager at Horizon Realty- I left 3 voicemails and two emails and NEVER heard back, until after I spoke with Kristy- then his response was "I understand Kristy has handled your problem". This property management company is lazy, but I guess as long as their managers are stealing money from previous renters then they are doing their job to the property managers expectations.

I wish I would have read the negative comments about this property prior to moving there because they really ended up being right. I know that there aren't many apartments in this area, and even fewer that allow pets- but I strongly urge you to avoid this property and all horizon realty properties, because in the end they will steal your money and then wont return your calls.
