A pyramid scheme (a/k/a franchise fraud) is an investment fraud scheme in which someone is offered a distributorship or franchise to market a particular product. This involves a fee to become part of the business. The real profit is earned by the sale of new distributorships and not by the sale of the products. Typically, the scheme is sold by telling new subscribers that they can remake their original investment by selling distributorships to two or more people, and so on. I worked with David on my father's Probate after he passed away. It was a difficult time, and I had no idea what to do but David walked me through every step and helped me get everything organized and even help set me up with someone to get the estate cleaned up and get the house sold once it was ready to be sold. It didn't quite go as planned, and there is more I wish I could have done, but that was not David's fault at all, it was due to my own health conditions.
