Rothbloom Eye Care

A Terrible Experiance.... So that this post is "factual" & not emotional, let me describe my experience at Rothbloom Eye Care. As a new client, I was "extremely clear " of my intent to obtain progressive lens glasses due to the need for distance driving, basic reading & for daily computer use. What I asked for WAS NOT received. My first use of the glasses was visually uncomfortable yet I was advised to wear them and allow my eyes to adjust. After a week I found there was no difference & that in fact I could not read street signs at a short distance without blurring. I went back & asked to be re- evaluated & was treated by the fitting technician as if I was the issue, not the glasses. I was told the reason you can't see is "because you are not in the track". The fitting technician was both aggressive and curt in her poor customer service skills. I continued to say the glasses were not right. Rather than reexamining the prescription at that moment, the nose pads were adjusted and I was told to go outside and look across the street at street signs to see if it was clearer. Seeing no difference, I asked her to take my glasses & revaluate the prescription of which she came back to say it "matches exactly" to the written prescription. Knowing I was getting no where with her, I left the office feeling "brushed off" and unappreciated. I filed a complaint with VSP insurance and then went to a different eye doctor who found that I was NOT provided with progressive lenses. The final outcome of this horrible experience was that I had to go to a different doctor, fund a new examination, & fund new progressive lenses that actually matched my request & needs. Later apologies & suggestion to bring back the lenses (which could not be done because new glasses that corrected the previous error were now unable to be retrieved). Had the lenses been produced correctly the first time, going to a new eye doctor would not have been needed. Would I recommend this office, absolutely NOT!!!

Called in for a yearly eye exam & got an appointment right away. Same day on Friday around 2pm which was perfect for me. I love going here because they have this optix machine that literally saves the hassle of eye drops and dilation. My visit today was with Erica Shah and she was very thorough and informative about the exam. She made me feel very comfortable about the exam and even went above and beyond to explain why she was doing certain test. She referred me to some new contact lenses that are completely better than the old ones. I always come here to see Dr. Rothbloom but I will be going back to see Erica next time.
