        First Settlement Physical Therapy (FSPT) is a family owned private practice that strives to treat its employees and patients as part of that family. We have been in business 15 years and have grown into 15 clinics throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley. FSPT’s first clinic was founded in Marietta, OH in 1999. The company name originates from Marietta being the Northwest Territory’s first settlement so we thought First Settlement Physical Therapy would be quite fitting! FSPT is owned by Hema Hargus. Her son, Simon Hargus; her husband, Phil Hargus; and her daughter in-law, Lisa Hargus, along with an extremely well-trained staff, help run FSPT and make it the Mid-Ohio Valley’s most trusted physical therapy provider.

        This is a gem in the middle of the bush everyone knew there was a place here but they didn’t know how good they are. It’s been a very pleasant experience. It was a traumatic thing to come in after a stroke but everyone was very helpful and understanding. The physical therapy concentrated on hand and leg. The occupational also focused on my hand and getting it to where it need to be. And they were very thoughtful in helping me get to where I had improved strength. I had asked for Speech just to make sure there weren’t any effects from the stroke that needed fixed. The speech therapist made me feel better in knowing that I am ok. They have helped me get better at every day activities that I didn’t realize that I was lacking in and it had helped me feel more confident in my everyday things that I do. The Office staff has been very accommodating in getting me my appts. I would highly recommend everyone to FSPT!
